Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: The bottle is top-rack dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. For hand washing, use warm soapy water.
- Filter Replacement: Replace the water filter every 40 gallons or approximately every two months for optimal performance. Look for Brita Bottle Replacement Filters (item number 60258 35818).
- Straw Cleaning: Regularly clean the straw and lid assembly. While the charcoal filter may sometimes leave a black residue, this is normal and not mold. A small brush can be helpful for thorough cleaning of the straw components.

Troubleshooting
- Water Dribbling from Lid: If water dribbles when tipping the bottle, ensure you are sipping directly from the straw. This bottle is designed for upright sipping.
- Black Residue in Bottle/Straw: A small amount of black residue from the charcoal filter is normal and not harmful. This is not mold. Regular cleaning, especially of the straw components, will help manage this.
- Water Taste Not Improved: Ensure the filter is correctly installed and has been rinsed for 15 seconds before first use. Replace the filter if it has been in use for more than two months or 40 gallons.
- Leakage: Ensure the lid is screwed on tightly and the straw is rotated to the locked position.
