1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient use of your LG 32UN650-W 32-inch UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Ultrafine Display Monitor. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating your product and retain it for future reference.

2. Safety Information

  • Always place the monitor on a stable, level surface to prevent it from falling.
  • Do not block ventilation openings. Ensure adequate airflow around the monitor.
  • Use only the power cord and adapter supplied with the monitor.
  • Avoid exposing the monitor to water or excessive humidity.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the monitor yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • Unplug the monitor during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.

3. What's in the Box

Verify that all items are present in the product box:

Additional cables (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort) may be included depending on your region or retailer.

4. Setup

4.1 Assembling the Stand

  1. Carefully place the monitor screen-down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
  2. Attach the stand base to the stand neck using the provided screws.
  3. Connect the assembled stand to the back of the monitor until it clicks into place.

4.2 Connecting Cables

Connect the necessary cables to the monitor's rear ports. The monitor includes DisplayPort and HDMI inputs.

  • Power: Connect the power adapter to the DC-IN port on the monitor and then to a power outlet.
  • HDMI: Connect an HDMI cable from your computer or device to one of the HDMI IN ports (HDMI 1 or HDMI 2).
  • DisplayPort: Connect a DisplayPort cable from your computer or device to the DP-IN port.
  • Audio Out: Connect headphones or external speakers to the H/P (Headphone) port.

4.3 Adjusting the Monitor Position

The monitor stand allows for height adjustment and tilt. To adjust the height, gently push or pull the monitor up or down. To tilt, hold both sides of the monitor and adjust the angle forward or backward.

5. Operating

5.1 Basic Controls (Joystick)

The monitor features a joystick button located at the bottom center of the screen for easy navigation of the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.

  • Power On/Off: Press the joystick button once to turn on the monitor. Press and hold it for a few seconds to turn it off.
  • Menu Access: With the monitor on, press the joystick button once to bring up the main OSD menu.
  • Navigation: Move the joystick left, right, up, or down to navigate through menu options.
  • Selection: Press the joystick button to confirm a selection.

5.2 On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu

The OSD menu allows you to configure various settings of your monitor. Press the joystick button to access the main menu, then navigate to the desired options.

  • Picture Adjust: Fine-tune specific picture parameters.
  • Color Adjust: Adjust color balance and saturation.
  • Picture Reset: Revert all picture settings to their factory defaults.

5.2.3 General Settings

  • Language: Set the OSD menu language.
  • SMART ENERGY SAVING: Adjust power consumption settings.
  • Power LED: Control the power indicator light.
  • Automatic Standby: Enable or disable automatic standby mode.
  • DisplayPort Version: Select the DisplayPort version.
  • HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color: Enable or disable Deep Color for HDMI inputs.
  • Buzzer: Turn OSD menu sound effects on or off.
  • OSD Lock: Lock the OSD menu to prevent accidental changes.
  • OSD Size: Adjust the size of the OSD menu.
  • Information: View monitor information.
  • Reset to Initial Settings: Restore all monitor settings to factory defaults.

5.3 OnScreen Control Software Features

The LG OnScreen Control software enhances productivity by providing easy access to monitor settings and screen management features directly from your computer.

5.3.1 Screen Split

The Screen Split feature allows you to divide your screen into multiple sections for efficient multitasking. You can choose from various layouts (2-Screen Split, 3-Screen Split, 4-Screen Split, PIP) to arrange your windows.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Screen: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive screen cleaner. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the screen.
  • Cleaning the Casing: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the monitor casing. Avoid using strong detergents or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation holes on the back of the monitor are not obstructed to prevent overheating.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check if the power cord is securely connected to both the monitor and the power outlet. Ensure the power adapter is functioning.
  • No Display/Black Screen: Verify that the video cable (HDMI or DisplayPort) is securely connected to both the monitor and your computer. Ensure the correct input source is selected on the monitor. Try restarting your computer.
  • Flickering Screen: Check the video cable connection. Ensure your graphics card drivers are up to date. Adjust the refresh rate in your computer's display settings.
  • Image Quality Issues (Blurry/Distorted): Ensure the monitor is set to its native resolution (3840 x 2160). Check the video cable for damage.
  • Dead Pixels: While rare, a small number of dead or stuck pixels may be considered normal for LCD/LED panels. If the number of affected pixels exceeds manufacturer specifications, contact customer support.
  • VESA Mount Compatibility: The monitor is VESA mount compatible. If experiencing issues with third-party mounts, ensure the mount adheres to standard VESA specifications and is correctly installed.
