Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your BISSELL PowerGlide Slim Corded Vacuum:

  1. Attach the Foot to the Extension Wand: Align the foot of the vacuum with the bottom of the extension wand and push until it clicks securely into place.
  2. Attach the Handheld Vacuum to the Extension Wand: Align the handheld vacuum unit with the top of the extension wand and push until it clicks securely into place.
  3. Attach Specialty Tools: The dusting brush and crevice tool can be attached directly to the handheld vacuum or the end of the extension wand for specialized cleaning tasks.
  4. Install Wall Mount (Optional): Use the provided hardware to securely mount the tool storage station to a wall stud. Ensure it is at a convenient height and can support the vacuum and accessories.

Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off

  • Plug the 27-foot power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  • Press the power button located on the handle of the handheld unit to turn the vacuum on or off.

3-in-1 Capabilities

The PowerGlide Slim offers three versatile cleaning modes:

  • Stick Vacuum Mode: Use the vacuum fully assembled for floor cleaning on carpets and hard floors. The swivel steering allows for easy maneuverability around furniture.
  • Handheld Vacuum Mode: Detach the handheld unit from the extension wand to clean upholstery, stairs, car interiors, and other small areas.
  • High-Reach Vacuum Mode: Attach a specialty tool (like the crevice tool or dusting brush) directly to the extension wand (without the foot) to reach high ceilings, corners, or under furniture.

Tangle-Free Brush Roll & Swivel Steering

  • The patented Tangle-Free Brush Roll is designed to prevent hair wrap, making it ideal for pet owners.
  • The swivel steering mechanism allows the vacuum head to pivot easily, enabling you to navigate around furniture and obstacles with minimal effort.

Maintenance

Emptying the Dirt Tank

The Easy Empty™ dirt tank should be emptied regularly to maintain optimal suction power.

  1. Ensure the vacuum is unplugged and turned off.
  2. Press the release button on the handheld unit to detach the dirt tank.
  3. Hold the dirt tank over a trash bin and press the bottom release button to open the flap and empty contents.
  4. Close the flap and reattach the dirt tank to the handheld unit until it clicks.

Cleaning the Filter

The washable filter should be cleaned monthly or as needed to ensure efficient operation.

  1. Remove the dirt tank as described above.
  2. Twist the filter assembly to unlock and remove it from the dirt tank.
  3. Separate the mesh filter from the foam filter.
  4. Rinse both filters under warm water until clean. Allow them to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reassembling.
  5. Reassemble the filters and place them back into the dirt tank, then reattach the dirt tank to the vacuum.

Brush Roll Maintenance

The Tangle-Free Brush Roll minimizes hair wrap, but occasional inspection and cleaning may be necessary.

  • Ensure the vacuum is unplugged.
  • Inspect the brush roll for any debris or tangled hair. The brush roll cover can be opened for easier access if needed.
  • Remove any obstructions using scissors or your fingers.
