1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the RETROSUN RC-898M replacement remote control. This remote is specifically designed to operate ONKYO AV Receiver models TX-NR747, TX-NR545, and TX-NR646. It functions as a direct replacement for the original remote control for these specified models. Please note that this remote control is not compatible with televisions, DVD players, or any other devices not listed.

2. Setup and Battery Installation

The RC-898M remote control requires two AAA batteries (not included) for operation. No programming or pairing is required; simply insert the batteries, and the remote will be ready for use with compatible ONKYO AV Receivers.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open it.
  3. Insert two new AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

3. Operating Instructions

3.2. Operational Range

The remote control operates effectively within an approximate distance of 8 meters (26 feet) from the AV receiver, provided there are no significant obstructions between the remote and the receiver's infrared sensor.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Cleaning

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

4.2. Battery Replacement
