Setup

1. Battery Installation

The EVISTR V509 is powered by two AAA batteries. Batteries are not included in the package.

Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
Slide the cover open.
Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Powering On/Off

To power on, slide the ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
To power off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.

3. Inserting a TF Card (Optional)

The device supports up to 64GB TF card expansion for additional storage.

Locate the TF card slot on the side of the recorder.
Gently insert the TF card into the slot until it clicks into place.
To remove, push the TF card inward until it springs out.

Operating Instructions

1. Basic Recording

To start recording: Press the REC button (red button). The screen will display "Recording..." and the recording timer will start.
To save recording: Press the REC button again. The recording will be saved automatically.

2. Playback

To play a recording: In stop mode, press the PLAY/PAUSE button.
To pause/resume playback: Press the PLAY/PAUSE button during playback.
To navigate recordings: Use the Previous/Next buttons to select different files.
To adjust volume: Use the +/- buttons.

3. Voice Activated Recording (VAR)

The VAR function allows the recorder to start recording automatically when sound is detected and pause when silence occurs, saving memory and battery life. The V509 offers 7 sensitivity levels.

Access the menu and navigate to the VAR settings.
Select your desired sensitivity level (Level 1 is most sensitive, Level 7 requires louder sound).

4. Password Protection

You can set a 4-digit password to prevent unauthorized access to your device and recordings.

Go to the device settings menu.
Select "Password" or "Security" option.
Enter a new 4-digit password using the navigation buttons.
Confirm the password.
Once enabled, the device will require the password upon startup.

Important: Remember your password. If you forget it, you may not be able to access your recordings. Do not set a password if you plan to use the auto-timing record feature.

5. File Management and Connecting to Computer

You can easily transfer and manage your recording files by connecting the V509 to a computer.

Connect the recorder to your computer using the provided USB Type-C cable.
The device will appear as a removable disk drive on your computer (compatible with Windows 98 and later, XP, 7/8/10, and Mac OS).
You can then drag and drop files, delete, or organize them as you would with any other storage device.
Supported audio formats include MP3, WAV, FLAC, APE, OGG, WMA.

6. A-B Repeat Function

The A-B repeat function allows you to loop a specific segment of an audio file for repeated listening.

During playback, press the A-B button at the desired starting point (A).
Press the A-B button again at the desired ending point (B).
The recorder will now continuously play the segment between A and B.
Press the A-B button a third time to exit the repeat mode.

7. Variable Speed Playback

Adjust the playback speed to listen to recordings faster or slower, which is useful for reviewing long recordings or transcribing.
