Setup and Installation
The Nania Racer Car Seat supports two main installation methods depending on the child's weight:
Group 1 (9-18 kg): Using the 5-Point Harness
- Place the car seat forward-facing on the vehicle's rear seat.
- Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the designated guides on the car seat. Ensure the lap portion of the belt is tight across the base and the shoulder portion is securely routed.
- Fasten the vehicle's seat belt buckle. Pull the shoulder belt to remove any slack, ensuring the car seat is firmly secured and does not move excessively.
- Place your child in the car seat. Fasten the 5-point harness buckle.
- Adjust the shoulder straps of the 5-point harness so they are at or slightly above your child's shoulders. Pull the adjustment strap to tighten the harness until it is snug against your child's body, allowing only one finger to fit between the strap and the child's collarbone.
Group 2/3 (15-36 kg): Using the Vehicle's 3-Point Seat Belt
For children weighing 15 kg and above, the 5-point harness should be removed or stowed according to the instructions provided with the car seat. The child will then be secured directly by the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.
- Place the car seat forward-facing on the vehicle's rear seat.
- Place your child in the car seat.
- Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt across your child and through the red belt guides on the car seat. The lap belt should sit low across your child's hips, and the shoulder belt should cross the center of their shoulder and chest.
- Fasten the vehicle's seat belt buckle. Pull the shoulder belt to remove any slack, ensuring the belt is snug against your child's body and the car seat.

Operating Instructions
Adjusting the Headrest
The headrest is adjustable to multiple positions to ensure optimal comfort and safety for your growing child. To adjust the headrest, locate the adjustment lever or button, typically at the top or back of the headrest. Press the lever/button and slide the headrest up or down until it is positioned correctly. The shoulder straps of the harness (for Group 1) should be at or slightly above your child's shoulders. For Group 2/3, the headrest should position the vehicle's shoulder belt correctly across your child's shoulder.
Securing the Child with the 5-Point Harness (9-18kg)
- Place your child in the car seat.
- Bring the two buckle tongues together and insert them into the central buckle until you hear a click.
- Pull the harness adjustment strap, usually located at the front of the seat, to tighten the harness. Ensure the straps are snug against your child's body without being too tight.
- To loosen the harness, press the release button (often under a flap) and pull the shoulder straps outwards.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning the Cover
The car seat cover is removable and designed for easy cleaning. To remove the cover, carefully unhook it from the edges and detach any fasteners. The cover should be hand-washed using mild soap and cold water. Do not machine wash, bleach, tumble dry, or iron the cover, as this may damage the fabric and its fire-retardant properties. Allow the cover to air dry completely before reattaching it to the car seat.
Cleaning the Car Seat Frame
The plastic and metal parts of the car seat can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure all parts are dry before reassembly or use.
Troubleshooting
- Car seat feels loose after installation: Ensure the vehicle's 3-point seat belt is routed correctly through all designated guides and pulled taut. Press down firmly on the car seat while tightening the belt to remove all slack.
- Harness straps are difficult to adjust: Check for any twists in the harness straps. Ensure the harness adjustment strap is not obstructed. If the harness is still stiff, ensure the release button for loosening is fully depressed.
- Buckle is difficult to fasten/unfasten: Ensure both buckle tongues are fully inserted into the central buckle. If the buckle is sticky, clean it with a damp cloth, but avoid lubricants.
- Child seems uncomfortable: Verify that the headrest is adjusted to the correct height and the harness straps (if applicable) are snug but not too tight. Ensure no clothing or objects are interfering with the child's position.
