Setup Instructions

1. Connect to Host Device: Plug the integrated USB-C connector of the Verbatim 8-in-1 Hub into an available USB-C port on your laptop, tablet, or compatible device. Ensure the connection is secure.
2. Power Connection (Optional): If your host device requires charging or if you are connecting power-intensive peripherals, connect your USB-C power adapter to the USB-C (PD) port on the hub. The hub supports up to 100W pass-through power delivery.
3. Driver Installation: The hub is typically plug-and-play and does not require additional drivers for most operating systems (Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Android). If prompted, follow on-screen instructions for driver installation.

Operating Instructions

Using USB 3.0 Ports

• Connect USB-A devices such as flash drives, external hard drives, keyboards, or mice to the two USB 3.0 ports.
• These ports support data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps.

Using USB-C Ports

• USB-C (PD) Port: This port is for power input. Connect your laptop's USB-C power adapter here to charge your laptop through the hub.
• USB-C Data Port: This port supports data transfer and BC1.2 with a maximum power of 5V@1.5A for charging compatible devices.

Using HDMI Port

• Connect an HDMI cable from the hub's HDMI port to an external monitor or TV.

Troubleshooting

No Display via HDMI

• Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the hub and the monitor.
• Verify that your monitor is set to the correct input source.
• Check your computer's display settings to ensure the external monitor is detected and configured (e.g., extended, mirrored).
• Try connecting the HDMI cable directly to your device if it has an HDMI port, to rule out cable or monitor issues.

Audio Not Working

• Confirm that your audio device (headphones, speakers) is properly plugged into the 3.5mm audio jack on the hub.
• Check your operating system's sound settings and ensure the Verbatim hub's audio output is selected as the default device.
• If a USB audio device is connected, your system might automatically switch to it. Manually select your preferred audio output.

Devices Not Recognized or Slow Data Transfer

• Ensure the hub's USB-C connector is fully inserted into your host device.
• If using an external hard drive or other high-power device, ensure the hub is connected to a power source via its USB-C (PD) port.
• Try connecting the device directly to your computer's USB port to verify its functionality.
• Restart your host device and reconnect the hub.

Hub Feels Warm During Use

• It is normal for the hub to become warm during operation, especially when multiple ports are in use or when power delivery is active. This is due to power conversion and data processing.
