4. Setup Instructions

1. Unfold the Tripod Legs:

   Release the leg angle selectors located at the top of each leg. Extend the legs outwards until they are stable. The tripod offers multiple leg angle positions for varied shooting scenarios.

   

2. Extend the Leg Sections:

   Utilize the Quick Power Lock (QPL) Travel levers on each leg section. Flip open the levers to extend the leg sections to your desired height. Close the levers firmly to lock the sections in place. Ensure all levers are securely closed for maximum stability.

   

3. Adjust the Center Column:

   Loosen the locking collar at the base of the center column. Extend the center column to increase the tripod's overall height. Tighten the collar to secure the column. For low-angle shots, the center column can be inverted.
4. Attach the Camera Plate:

   The 3-way fluid head comes with a 200PL-PRO quick release plate. Attach this plate to the base of your camera by screwing it into the camera's tripod mount. Ensure it is tightened securely.

5. Mount the Camera:

   With the quick release plate attached to your camera, align it with the receiver on the 3-way fluid head. Secure the camera by engaging the quick release mechanism on the head. Verify that the camera is firmly attached before releasing your grip.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Using the 3-Way Fluid Head

The Manfrotto Befree 3-Way Live Head provides precise control over three axes: pan, tilt, and portrait/landscape orientation. Each axis has a dedicated handle or knob for adjustment.

• Pan Movement: Use the horizontal handle to control panning (left-to-right rotation). Loosen the locking knob for smooth movement and tighten to secure the position.
• Tilt Movement: Use the vertical handle to control tilting (up-and-down movement). Loosen the locking knob for fluid motion and tighten to fix the angle.
• Portrait/Landscape Orientation: The head allows for quick switching between portrait and landscape modes. Adjust the dedicated lever to change the camera's orientation.
