SmartCare Center Safety Warnings
- To prevent leakage of cleaning fluid, ensure the cleaning station is placed on a flat surface.
- After installing the cleaning cartridge, do not tilt, move suddenly, or transport the cleaning station, as cleaning fluid may spill from the cartridge.
- Do not place the cleaning station in a mirrored cabinet or on a polished or lacquered surface.
- The cleaning cartridge contains highly flammable liquid. Keep it away from ignition sources. Do not expose to direct sunlight, smoking, or store on a radiator.
- Avoid contact of cleaning fluid with eyes.
- Do not refill the cartridge; use only original Braun refill cartridges.
- Before using the cleaning station, the shaver must be dry and free of foam, gel, or soap residue.
- The cleaning cartridge contains ethanol or isopropanol, which evaporates slowly after opening. Replace each cartridge after approximately 8 weeks if not used daily.
- Dispose of used cartridges with household waste or hazardous waste programs if available in your area. Ensure openings are closed with the new cartridge's lid, as the used cartridge will contain contaminated cleaning solution.
- Use the appliance only for its intended purpose.

3. Setup
Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge your shaver. Connect the power charger to the shaver and a power outlet. A full charge takes approximately 1 hour and provides up to 60 minutes of shaving time. A 5-minute quick charge is sufficient for one shave.

Setting up the SmartCare Center
- Place the SmartCare Center on a flat, stable surface.
- Open the housing of the SmartCare Center.
- Insert a Braun cleaning cartridge into the housing until it clicks into place.
- Close the housing.
- Connect the SmartCare Center to the power supply.
4. Operating Instructions
Basic Shaving (Dry or Wet)
The Braun Series 8 shaver is 100% waterproof, allowing for comfortable dry shaving or refreshing wet shaving with foam or gel.

- Press the On/Off button to start the shaver.
- Hold the shaver at a right angle (90°) to your skin.
- Stretch your skin and shave against the direction of hair growth.

5. Maintenance
Manual Cleaning
For quick cleaning, rinse the shaver head under hot running water after each use. You can use a mild liquid soap. For a more thorough manual clean, detach the shaver head and use the provided cleaning brush to remove any trapped hairs.
Using the SmartCare Center
The SmartCare Center automatically cleans, lubricates, dries, and charges your shaver, keeping it in optimal condition.

- Ensure the shaver is dry and free of foam/gel residue before placing it in the SmartCare Center.
- Place the shaver head-down into the SmartCare Center.
- Press the start button on the SmartCare Center to initiate the cleaning cycle. The cycle includes cleaning, drying, and charging.
Replacing Shaver Parts
- Foil & Cutter Cassette: For optimal performance, replace the foil and cutter cassette every 18 months. Replacement parts are available from authorized Braun retailers.
- Cleaning Cartridge: Replace the cleaning cartridge in the SmartCare Center approximately every 8 weeks, or when the cleaning indicator light illuminates, to maintain hygiene and performance.
