4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Rice Cooking

  1. Measure the desired amount of rice using the provided measuring cup. Rinse the rice thoroughly until the water runs clear.
  2. Place the rinsed rice into the inner pot.
  3. Add water according to the markings inside the inner pot or your preferred ratio. For example, for 1 cup of rice, add water to the '1' mark.
  4. Place the inner pot into the main unit, ensuring it sits correctly. Close the lid securely.
  5. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  6. Press the COOK button to start the standard cooking cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  7. Once cooking is complete, the cooker will automatically switch to 'Keep Warm' mode. Allow the rice to rest for 10-15 minutes before serving for best results.

4.2 Using Menu Functions

The Bear DFB-B20A1 offers multiple cooking menus:

  1. Prepare ingredients according to your recipe for the desired menu (e.g., Soup, Congee, Dessert, Porridge, Cake).
  2. Place ingredients into the inner pot and close the lid.
  3. Press the MENU button repeatedly to cycle through the available cooking modes until the desired mode is selected on the display.
  4. Press START/CANCEL to begin cooking.

4.3 Fast Cook Function

For a quicker rice cooking cycle, follow steps 1-5 of 'Basic Rice Cooking', then press the FAST COOK button. This mode reduces cooking time but may result in a slightly different texture.

4.4 Preset Timer Function

The 24-hour preset timer allows you to schedule cooking to finish at a later time.

  1. Prepare rice and water or other ingredients as usual in the inner pot.
  2. Press the PRESET button. The display will show a default time.
  3. Use the HOUR and MINS buttons to adjust the desired delay time until cooking starts. This is the time until the cooking cycle begins, not the finish time.
  4. Press START/CANCEL to confirm the preset time. The timer will count down, and cooking will begin automatically once the set time elapses.

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your rice cooker.
