1. Introduction
The MHCOZY WiFi Wireless Smart Switch Relay Module is designed to integrate various devices into your smart home ecosystem. It supports control via the Smart Life/Tuya mobile application, 433MHz RF remote controls, and voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Home. This module offers both inching (momentary) and self-locking (on/off) modes, making it versatile for applications such as garage door openers, access control systems, and general appliance automation.
This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your smart relay module.
2. Product Overview
The MHCOZY Smart Switch Relay Module is a compact circuit board designed for easy integration. Below is an image illustrating the module's general appearance and its key components.

Component Identification
Refer to the diagram below for a detailed view of the module's components and their functions.

Figure 2: Labeled Components of the Module
- Relay: An electromechanical switch that controls a circuit.
- NO (Normally Open) Terminal: The relay contact is open when the relay is de-energized.
- COM (Common) Terminal: The common terminal for the relay switch.
- NC (Normally Closed) Terminal: The relay contact is closed when the relay is de-energized.
- Input USB 5V: Micro USB port for 5V DC power supply.
- Input DC 7-32V: Screw terminals for 7-32V DC power supply.
- Match Button / RF Pairing Button / Manual Switch: Used for Wi-Fi pairing, RF pairing, and manual control.
- Mode Switch Button: Used to switch between inching and self-locking modes.
- RF Pairing Indicator: Indicates the status of RF pairing.
- Network Indicator: Indicates the Wi-Fi connection status.
3. Setup
3.1 App Installation and Account Registration
- Download the "Smart Life" or "Tuya" application from your mobile device's app store (available on Android and iOS).
- Register for a new account or log in with an existing one.
3.2 Powering the Module
The module can be powered in two ways:
- Via the Micro USB port with a 5V DC power supply.
- Via the screw terminals with a 7-32V DC power supply.
Important: Ensure the power supply matches the module's requirements (5V DC or 7-32V DC). The relay output is a dry contact, meaning it does not provide voltage output; it acts as a switch.
3.3 Wi-Fi Pairing (EZ Mode)
For successful pairing, ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. If your router has dual bands with the same SSID, temporarily disable the 5GHz band or ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz band.
- Power on the module. The network indicator light should flash quickly (2 short, 1 long blink pattern). If it does not, long-press the pairing button until it flashes quickly.
- Open the Smart Life/Tuya app and tap the "+" icon to add a device.
- Select "Breaker Wi-Fi" under the "Switch Module" category.
- Confirm that the indicator is rapidly blinking in the app, then proceed.
- Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network password.
- The app will automatically scan for and add the device. Once added, you can rename the device for easier identification.
3.4 Visual Setup Guide
Watch this video for a step-by-step guide on setting up and pairing your MHCOZY Smart Switch Relay Module with the Smart Life app.
Video 1: Smart Life/Tuya App Wi-Fi Relay Setup and Operation
This video demonstrates the initial power-on, Wi-Fi pairing process, and basic app control for the 1-channel smart relay module.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 App Control
Once the module is successfully paired with the Smart Life/Tuya app, you can control it remotely:
- Remote On/Off: Tap the switch icon in the app to toggle the relay on or off.
- Timing Schedules: Create schedules for automatic on/off operations.
- Countdown/Sunrise/Sunset/Loop Timer: Set advanced timers for various automation needs.
- Device Sharing: Share control of the device with family members.
- Group Management: Organize multiple devices into groups for simultaneous control.
- Voice Control: Integrate with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Siri (via Smart Scene in Tuya app) for voice commands.
4.2 Mode Selection (Inching/Self-Locking)
The module supports two operational modes:
- Self-Locking Mode (On/Off): In this mode, the relay remains in its activated state (on or off) until manually changed. This acts as a standard switch.
- Inching Mode (Momentary): In this mode, the relay activates for a set duration (e.g., 1 second) and then automatically returns to its original state. This is ideal for momentary actions like opening a garage door or triggering a PC power button. The inching time can be adjusted in the Smart Life/Tuya app (from 1 second to 1 hour).
To change the mode, use the "Mode switch button" on the module or adjust the settings within the Smart Life/Tuya app.
4.3 433MHz RF Remote Control Pairing
The module includes a built-in 433MHz RF receiver, allowing it to be controlled by compatible RF remote controls.
- Ensure the module is powered on.
- Press and hold the RF pairing button (also labeled as "Match button") on the module for approximately 3 seconds until the blue RF pairing indicator light turns on.
- While the blue light is on, press the desired button on your 433MHz RF remote control for 2 seconds.
- The blue light will flash, indicating successful pairing. The remote button is now programmed to control the module.
The video in Section 3.4 also demonstrates the RF pairing process.
4.4 Wiring Examples
The module works as a dry contact switch. Here are some common wiring configurations:

Figure 3: Wiring Diagrams for Different Applications
This image illustrates different wiring setups for the relay module, showing how to connect it to various devices for control. Always ensure power is disconnected before wiring.
5. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your MHCOZY Smart Switch Relay Module, follow these general maintenance guidelines:
- Keep the module in a dry environment, away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid exposing the module to direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Clean the module gently with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure all wiring connections are secure and free from corrosion.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Wi-Fi Connection Issues
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Only: The module only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. Ensure your router is configured for 2.4GHz, and your phone is connected to it during pairing.
- Dual-Band Routers: If your router has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands with the same network name (SSID), temporarily disable the 5GHz band during pairing or ensure your phone is explicitly connected to the 2.4GHz band.
- Signal Strength: Place the module close to your Wi-Fi router during the initial pairing process to ensure a strong signal.
- Incorrect Password: Double-check that you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password in the Smart Life/Tuya app.
- Resetting the Module: If the indicator light does not flash quickly, long-press the pairing button until it flashes slowly, then try configuring it using the "Compatible Mode" option in the app if EZ mode fails.
6.2 Relay Not Responding
- Power Supply: Verify that the module is receiving adequate power (5V DC via USB or 7-32V DC via terminals).
- Wiring: Ensure all wiring connections to the NO/COM/NC terminals are correct and secure. Remember the relay provides a dry contact closure, not voltage output.
- App Status: Check the app to confirm the device is online and responding to commands.
- RF Remote: If using an RF remote, ensure it is correctly paired as described in Section 4.3.
