The TrustFire TR-020 is a versatile 4-slot universal battery charger designed for a wide range of rechargeable batteries, including Li-Ion/IMR/INR/ICR and Ni-Mh (NiCd) types. It features QC3.0 fast charging via a Type-C USB port and can also function as a power bank. The integrated STN HD display provides real-time charging status for each slot.

Key Features:

Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the TrustFire TR-020 charger, USB cable, and user manual from the packaging.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided USB cable to the Type-C input port on the charger. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power adapter (e.g., a QC3.0 fast charger for optimal performance) or a computer USB port. The display will illuminate.
  3. Battery Insertion: Insert compatible rechargeable batteries into the charging slots. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) as indicated on the charger. The charger will automatically detect the battery type and begin charging.
  4. Initial Display Check: Upon inserting a battery, the STN HD display will show the current status of that slot, including battery type, voltage, and charging current.

Operating Instructions

Charging Batteries:

  1. Automatic Detection: The charger automatically detects the battery type (Li-Ion, Ni-Mh, etc.) and selects the appropriate charging voltage and current.
  2. Monitoring Charging Status: The STN HD display shows real-time information for each slot. Press the 'V' button to cycle through different display parameters (voltage, capacity, temperature, charging time) for the selected slot. Press the 'O' button to select the slot you wish to view.
  3. Charging Completion: The display will indicate when a battery is fully charged. Remove batteries promptly once charging is complete.

Using as a Power Bank:

The USB output function is only activated when the power supply to the charger is disconnected and a charged battery is inserted into one of the slots.

  1. Disconnect Power: Ensure the Type-C input cable is disconnected from the charger.
  2. Insert Charged Battery: Place a fully charged Li-Ion battery (e.g., 18650, 26650) into any slot.
  3. Connect Device: Connect your smartphone, torch, or other small USB-powered device to the USB output port on the side of the charger. The charger will begin supplying power.
