5. Usage Guidelines
Once the bread pan is securely installed, you can proceed with your bread-making process:
- Add Ingredients: Follow your recipe carefully, adding liquids first, then dry ingredients, and finally yeast. Ensure ingredients are distributed evenly.
- Select Program: Close the bread machine lid and select the desired program, loaf size, and crust color on your KBS bread machine's control panel.
- Start Baking: Press the Start/Stop button to begin the baking cycle.
- Remove Bread: After the cycle completes, use oven mitts to carefully remove the hot bread pan from the machine. Invert the pan to release the bread. If the kneading paddle remains in the bread, gently remove it.
6. Care and Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life of your bread pan and maintain its non-stick properties:
- Cleaning: After each use, allow the pan to cool. Hand wash the bread pan and kneading paddle with warm water and a mild dish soap. Use a soft sponge or cloth.
- Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or metal utensils, as these can damage the ceramic non-stick coating.
- Drying: Thoroughly dry the bread pan and kneading paddle before storing to prevent water spots or mineral buildup.
- Storage: Store the pan in a dry place.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Bread sticks to pan | Insufficient greasing (if recipe requires); damaged non-stick coating. | Ensure pan is clean and dry before adding ingredients. Some recipes may benefit from a light coating of cooking oil or spray. If coating is damaged, consider replacement. |
| Pan does not lock into machine | Incorrect alignment; obstruction in the baking chamber. | Ensure the pan is correctly aligned with the locking mechanism. Check for any debris or foreign objects in the baking chamber that might prevent proper seating. |
| Kneading paddle stuck in bread/pan | Baked-on dough residue. | Allow the pan to cool. If the paddle is stuck in the bread, gently twist and pull it out. If stuck in the pan, fill the pan with warm water and let it soak for 10-15 minutes to loosen residue, then gently remove. |
