Setup and Pairing

Initial Charge

Before first use, fully charge the controller using the included USB-C cable. Connect the USB-C end to the controller's charging port and the USB-A end to a Nintendo Switch dock, a USB wall charger, or a computer USB port. The LED indicator will show charging status.

Pairing with Nintendo Switch

  1. From the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu, select Controllers, then Change Grip/Order.
  2. While the next screen is displayed, press and hold the SYNC Button on the top of the PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller for at least three seconds. The Player LED will flash and then become solid once paired.
  3. The controller is now paired and ready for use.

Note: The controller will automatically reconnect to your Nintendo Switch console when powered on and within range. If the controller does not reconnect, ensure the console is awake and press any button on the controller.

Operating Instructions

Button Functions

The controller features a standard button layout for Nintendo Switch, including A, B, X, Y buttons, L/R and ZL/ZR shoulder buttons, a D-pad, and Left/Right analog sticks. It also includes HOME, +, -, and Capture buttons.

Mapping Advanced Gaming Buttons

The two Advanced Gaming Buttons (AGB) on the back of the controller can be programmed to replicate any other button on the controller for quick access during gameplay.

  1. Press the Program Button on the back of the controller (located near the charging port). The Program LED will flash.
  2. Press the button you wish to map (e.g., A, B, X, Y, L, R, ZL, ZR, Left Stick Click, Right Stick Click, D-pad). The Program LED will flash rapidly.
  3. Press the Advanced Gaming Button (either L or R) you wish to assign the function to. The Program LED will turn off, indicating successful mapping.

To clear a mapped button, press the Program Button and then the Advanced Gaming Button you wish to clear. The Program LED will turn off.

Maintenance

Charging the Controller

When the battery is low, the Low Battery Indicator LED on the front of the controller will flash. Connect the USB-C charging cable to the controller and a power source to recharge. A full charge provides up to 30 hours of gameplay. Charging time may vary.

Cleaning and Storage

To clean the controller, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.

Troubleshooting

  • Controller not pairing: Ensure the Nintendo Switch console is updated to the latest system software. Make sure the controller is fully charged. Try resetting the controller by holding the SYNC button for 10 seconds.
  • Input lag or disconnection: Ensure there are no obstructions between the controller and the Nintendo Switch console. Move closer to the console. Avoid using the controller near other wireless devices that may cause interference.
  • Buttons not responding: Check if the Advanced Gaming Buttons have been accidentally mapped. Try clearing the mapping as described in the "Mapping Advanced Gaming Buttons" section. If issues persist, try re-pairing the controller.
  • Controller not charging: Verify the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the controller and the power source. Try a different USB port or power adapter.
