1. Important Safeguards

Please read all instructions carefully before using your Mixpresso 5-Cup Drip Coffee Maker. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'off', then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended household use.
  • Do not clean carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.
  • A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

3. Before First Use

Before using your coffee maker for the first time, it is important to clean all removable parts and run a preliminary brewing cycle to ensure optimal performance and taste.

  1. Wash the glass carafe, filter basket, and plastic spoon in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  2. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth.
  3. Fill the water tank with clean water up to the MAX level (5 cups).
  4. Place the empty filter basket into its holder and close the lid.
  5. Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
  6. Plug the coffee maker into a power outlet.
  7. Select the 'Powder' mode (to bypass grinding) and 'High' temperature. Choose 'X5' cups and press 'Drip' to start a brewing cycle with only water.
  8. Allow the cycle to complete. Discard the water from the carafe.
  9. Repeat the water-only brewing process one or two more times to thoroughly rinse the internal components.

4. Setup & Operation

4.1 Adding Water

Open the water tank lid and pour fresh, cold water into the reservoir. Ensure the water level does not exceed the 'MAX' mark (5 cups) indicated on the side of the tank. Close the water tank lid securely.

4.2 Adding Coffee (Whole Beans)

If using whole coffee beans, open the bean hopper lid. Adjust the grinder knob to your desired grind size (fine, medium, coarse). Pour whole coffee beans into the hopper. The machine can hold enough beans for 2-5 cups. Close the bean hopper lid.

4.3 Adding Coffee (Pre-Ground)

If using pre-ground coffee, open the filter basket compartment. Place the reusable mesh filter into the filter basket holder. Use the provided plastic spoon to add your desired amount of pre-ground coffee to the filter. Close the filter basket compartment securely.

4.4 Brewing Coffee

  1. Place the glass carafe with its lid on the warming plate.
  2. Plug the coffee maker into a power outlet.
  3. Use the control panel to select your desired settings:
    • Mode: Select 'Bean' for whole beans (grind & brew) or 'Powder' for pre-ground coffee (brew only).
    • Aroma: Choose 'Mild', 'Medium', or 'Strong' for coffee strength.
    • Temp: Select 'Ice', 'Normal', or 'High' for brewing temperature.
    • Cups: Select the number of cups (X2-X5 for small cups, M1-M2 for larger mugs).
  4. Press the 'Drip' button to start the brewing process. The machine will automatically grind (if 'Bean' mode is selected) and then brew your coffee.

4.5 Programmable Brewing (Timer Function)

To enjoy fresh coffee at a specific time, use the programmable timer:

  1. Prepare the coffee maker with water and coffee (beans or ground) as described above.
  2. Press the 'Time' button on the control panel.
  3. Use the 'Hour' and 'Min' buttons to set your desired brew time (up to 24 hours in advance).
  4. Once the time is set, the machine will display a clock icon, indicating the timer is active. It will automatically start brewing at the programmed time.

4.6 Keep Warm Function

After brewing, the warming plate will automatically activate to keep your coffee at an optimal temperature. This function will typically last for a set period (e.g., 30 minutes) before automatically shutting off to save energy.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your coffee maker.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  1. Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Remove the glass carafe, filter basket, and bean hopper lid.
  3. Discard used coffee grounds from the filter basket.
  4. Wash the carafe, filter basket, and plastic spoon in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  5. Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  6. Clean the grinder conical burr using the provided brush to remove any residual coffee grounds. Ensure the grinder knob is properly installed and tightened after cleaning.

5.2 Descaling

Descaling is recommended every 2 months to remove mineral deposits and maintain brewing efficiency.

  1. Add descaling agent (e.g., white vinegar or a commercial descaling solution) and water to the water tank. The water level should not exceed the maximum scale mark.
  2. Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Plug in the machine and turn it on.
  4. Select the 'C2' descaling mode on the control panel and press 'Drip' to start the descaling cycle.
  5. Once the cycle is complete, clean any limescale residue from the filter and carafe.
  6. Refill the water tank with the maximum amount of clean water. Select the 'C2' cleaning mode again and brew to remove any remaining descaling solution. Repeat this step if necessary.
  7. Finally, turn off the machine and unplug it.

6. Troubleshooting
