2. Getting Started

Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

Carefully remove all packaging materials and dispose of them properly. Wash all removable parts, such as the air flow racks, rotisserie spit, and drip tray, with warm soapy water. Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth. Ensure all parts are completely dry before first use.

First Use Recommendation

For best results, run your Chefman Air Fryer empty at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes before first use. A temporary odor may occur as new materials adjust to heat—this is normal and will dissipate quickly. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during this initial operation.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Chefman Air Fryer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Appliance does not turn on.Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the outlet has power. If the unit was running and suddenly stopped, it might have overheated; unplug and allow it to cool down before plugging it back in.
Food is not cooking evenly.Ensure food is arranged in a single layer on the racks and not overcrowded. Shake or flip food halfway through cooking for best results. Adjust temperature or time as needed.
White smoke coming from the appliance. This is usually caused by grease or food residue on the heating element or in the drip tray. Ensure the drip tray is clean and properly inserted. Clean the heating element regularly.
Unit shuts down unexpectedly during operation. This can be due to overheating. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. The manual recommends at least 2 inches of clearance from walls, but some users find 6 inches or more is better to prevent auto-shutdowns, especially at higher temperatures.
Fan is noisy.A certain level of fan noise is normal for air fryers. If the noise is excessively loud or unusual, ensure the unit is on a stable, flat surface and not obstructed.
Control panel issues (e.g., screen not powering down, no reset button). This model does not feature a dedicated "clear" or "reset" button, nor an on/off button that fully powers down the screen. To fully reset or turn off the display, unplug the unit from the power outlet.
Loud beeping sound when timer finishes. The appliance is designed to emit 5 loud beeps upon completion of the cooking cycle. This alert cannot be silenced prematurely.
Door not shutting properly or handle cracking.Inspect the door hinges and latch for any obstructions or damage. If the handle has cracked, it may not affect functionality but should be handled with care. Contact customer support if the door mechanism is compromised.
