Figure 2.1: Front View of Tuner Display. This image shows the front of the Cherub WST-675 tuner, featuring its high-contrast color display. The display indicates the detected note (G), the A4 calibration (440Hz), and a tuning meter with colored segments (red for flat, yellow for sharp, blue for in-tune) and numerical deviation (-50 to +50 cents). A battery level indicator is also visible.

Figure 2.2: Rear View with Control Buttons. This image displays the back of the tuner head, highlighting the two control buttons: 'ADJ' (Adjust) and 'U/SEL' (Power/Select). The model number 'WST-675 CAB TUNER' is printed below the buttons.

Figure 2.3: Side View of Tuner and Clip. This image provides a side perspective of the Cherub WST-675 tuner, illustrating its compact profile and the robust clip mechanism designed for attachment to instrument headstocks. The flexible joint connecting the tuner head to the clip is also visible.

Figure 2.4: Tuner Display with Alternate Calibration. This image shows the tuner's display indicating a different tuning scenario. The detected note is 'B', and the A4 calibration is set to '498Hz', demonstrating the tuner's adjustable calibration feature. The tuning meter and battery indicator are also visible.

Figure 2.5: Rear View with Extended Clip. This image presents another view of the tuner's rear, similar to Figure 2.2, but with the instrument clip fully extended. This view provides a clearer understanding of the tuner's full form factor when ready for attachment to an instrument.
3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Battery
The WST-675 tuner features a built-in rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. Before first use, or when the battery indicator shows low power, connect the tuner to a standard USB power source using the provided USB cable. The charging indicator will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged. A full charge provides approximately 10 hours of continuous use.
3.2 Attaching the Tuner
- Open the clip by gently pressing the lever.
- Attach the tuner securely to the headstock of your instrument. Ensure the clip makes firm contact with the instrument for accurate vibration detection.
- Adjust the angle of the tuner head for optimal viewing of the display. The flexible joint allows for various viewing positions.
3.3 Powering On/Off
Press and hold the 'U/SEL' button (refer to Figure 2.2) for approximately 2 seconds to power the tuner on or off.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Selecting Tuning Mode
With the tuner powered on, short press the 'U/SEL' button to cycle through the available tuning modes: Chromatic (C), Guitar (G), Bass (B), Ukulele (U), and Baritone (BT). Select the mode appropriate for your instrument.
4.2 Adjusting A4 Calibration
The standard A4 reference frequency is 440Hz. To adjust this value, short press the 'ADJ' button (refer to Figure 2.2). Each press will change the A4 value in 1Hz increments. The adjustable range is typically from 430Hz to 450Hz. To reset to the default 440Hz, continue pressing until 440Hz is displayed or power cycle the device.
4.3 Tuning Your Instrument
- Ensure the tuner is securely clipped to your instrument's headstock and the correct tuning mode is selected.
- Pluck a single string on your instrument. The tuner's display will show the detected note and its pitch deviation.
- Adjust your instrument's tuning peg until the needle on the display is centered and the color changes to blue (or green, depending on the specific display variant).
- The numerical value indicates the deviation in cents: a negative number means the note is flat, a positive number means it is sharp.
- Repeat for all strings.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the tuner with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these may damage the display or casing.
5.2 Battery Care
To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing the tuner for an extended period, charge it to approximately 50% and recharge every few months.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Tuner Does Not Power On
- Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the tuner to a USB power source and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes.
- Press and hold the 'U/SEL' button for 2 seconds to power on.
6.2 Inaccurate Tuning Readings
- Verify the tuner is securely clipped to the instrument's headstock. Loose contact can affect vibration detection.
- Ensure the correct tuning mode (Chromatic, Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Baritone) is selected for your instrument.
- Check the A4 calibration setting. Reset it to 440Hz if unsure.
- Tune in a quiet environment to avoid interference from external sounds.
6.3 Display Not Responding
- Try powering the tuner off and then on again.
- Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged.
