Product Overview

Setup and First Use

Charging the Nanobuds and Case:

Before first use, ensure both the earbuds and the charging case are fully charged. The charging case provides additional charges for the earbuds on the go.

1. Securely connect the USB-C cable to the charging port on the case.
2. Plug the other end of the USB-C cable into a 5V or greater power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer USB port).
3. The LED indicators on the case will flash while charging and illuminate steadily when fully charged.
4. Ensure the earbuds are properly seated in the charging case to make good contact with the charging pins. The earbuds will also show an indicator light when charging.

Activating and Pairing:

For the very first use, follow these steps to activate and pair your Nanobuds:

1. Place both earbuds back into the charging case.
2. Remove both earbuds from the case. This action will activate the earbuds and put them into pairing mode.
3. On your smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled device, go to Bluetooth settings and select "Altec Lansing Nanobuds" from the list of available devices.
4. Once paired, the earbuds will automatically connect to your device when removed from the case in the future.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off:

• To Turn On: Place the earbuds into the case, then take them out of the case.
• To Turn Off: Place the earbuds into the charging case.

Touch Controls:

The Nanobuds feature intuitive touch controls on each earbud. Specific functions may vary slightly depending on your device and app, but common controls include:

• Play/Pause: Single tap on either earbud.
• Next Track: Double tap on the right earbud.
• Previous Track: Double tap on the left earbud.
• Answer/End Call: Single tap on either earbud during an incoming call.
• Reject Call: Press and hold on either earbud during an incoming call.
• Activate Voice Assistant: Triple tap on either earbud.

Maintenance and Care

• Cleaning: Gently wipe the earbuds and charging case with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Ear Tips: Regularly clean the ear tips to prevent wax buildup, which can affect sound quality. Replace ear tips if they become damaged or worn. Ensure the earbud tips fit snugly in your ears for optimal sound quality and call performance.
• Storage: When not in use, store the Nanobuds in their charging case to protect them and keep them charged.
• Water Resistance: The Nanobuds are IPX5 water resistant, meaning they can withstand sweat and light rain. Do not submerge them in water. Ensure the charging port is dry before charging.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

• Earbuds not charging or LEDs not turning on:

  Ensure the earbuds are making good connection with the contacts in the case. Securely connect the USB-C cable to the charging port on the case and plug into a 5V or greater power source. If the LEDs do not turn on when the earbuds are removed from the case, charge the case then try again.

• Earbuds not pairing together or with smartphone:

  Perform the Manual Reset function. Only do this function when experiencing issues not solved by simply turning the earbuds on/off, or by placing them back into the case.

  1. Remove both earbuds from the case.
  2. Hold down the left and right sensor for 9 seconds. Both earbuds will flash blue three times, then flash red and blue before resetting.
  3. Place both earbuds back into the case to activate them.
  4. Take both earbuds out of the case to re-pair them.
  5. Reconnect the smartphone to your earbuds via Bluetooth settings.
• Poor sound quality or call performance:

  If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain the correct sound qualities or call performance. Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears.
