Setup

Follow these steps to prepare your torch for use:

  2. Align the threaded connection of the torch head with the valve on the 1-lb propane, MAPP, or MAPP-PRO fuel cylinder.
  3. Carefully screw the torch head onto the cylinder by hand. Tighten firmly to ensure a gas-tight seal. Do not overtighten.
  4. Check for gas leaks: Apply a soapy water solution to the connection point. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Tighten the connection further or replace the cylinder if the leak persists. Do not use the torch if a leak is detected.

Operating Instructions

Ignition:

  1. Ensure you are in a well-ventilated outdoor area, away from flammable materials.
  2. Slowly open the flame control valve by turning it counter-clockwise a quarter to half turn. You should hear a slight hiss of gas.
  3. Press the instant on/off trigger igniter firmly. The torch should ignite immediately.
  4. If the torch does not ignite on the first attempt, close the valve, wait a few seconds, and repeat steps 2 and 3.

Flame Adjustment:

  • To increase the flame size and intensity, slowly turn the flame control valve counter-clockwise.
  • To decrease the flame size, slowly turn the flame control valve clockwise.
  • Adjust the flame to the desired intensity for your specific task.
