Setup and Installation
Mounting the Camera
The HCP-6320HA is designed for wall mounting. Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the camera's weight (approximately 7 lbs) and any associated cabling.
- Select a suitable mounting location that provides the desired field of view and is within reach of power and video cables.
- Use the provided mounting template (if applicable) to mark drilling points for the mounting bracket.
- Drill pilot holes and secure the mounting bracket to the surface using appropriate screws and anchors.
- Attach the camera to the mounting bracket, ensuring it is firmly secured.
Wiring Connections
The camera requires a 24V AC power supply and uses wired connectivity for video and control.
- Power Connection: Connect the 24V AC power supply to the camera's power input. Ensure correct polarity.
- Video Output: Connect the analog HD video output (BNC connector) to your DVR or video monitoring system. The camera supports various analog HD formats (AHD, TVI, CVI) and CVBS, which can typically be selected via the OSD menu or DIP switches.
- Control (Optional): For PTZ control, connect the RS-485 communication lines (Tx+/Tx-) to your DVR or PTZ controller. Alternatively, Coaxitron (Up the Coax) control can be used if supported by your DVR, eliminating the need for separate RS-485 wiring.
Initial Configuration
After physical installation and wiring, power on the camera. Access the camera's On-Screen Display (OSD) menu via your DVR or controller to configure settings such as video format, PTZ protocols, and image adjustments.
Operating the Camera
Pan, Tilt, and Zoom (PTZ) Control
The HCP-6320HA offers precise PTZ control, allowing you to remotely adjust the camera's viewing angle and zoom level.
- Pan: Rotate the camera horizontally (360° continuous).
- Tilt: Adjust the camera vertically.
- Zoom: Use the 32x optical zoom to magnify distant objects.
- Focus: The camera typically features auto-focus, but manual focus may be available via the OSD menu.
Preset and Tour Functions
Configure specific camera positions (presets) and sequences of presets (tours) for automated surveillance.
- Setting Presets: Move the camera to the desired position, zoom, and focus, then save it as a preset through your DVR or controller interface. The camera supports high-speed preset recall.
- Running Tours: Create a tour by linking multiple presets in a specific order and duration.
Image Settings
Adjust various image parameters through the OSD menu to optimize video quality for different lighting conditions.
- WDR (Wide Dynamic Range): Improves visibility in scenes with both very bright and very dark areas.
- Day & Night: Automatically switches between color (day) and black & white (night) modes, utilizing the IR Cut Filter (ICR).
- SSNRIII: Reduces digital noise in low-light conditions.
- Defog: Enhances image clarity in foggy or hazy environments.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Regularly clean the camera's dome cover with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure the lens is free from smudges or obstructions for clear image quality.
