Setup Instructions

  1. Connect Air Stone: Attach one end of the air hose to the air stone.
  2. Connect Regulating Valve: Insert the regulating valve into the air hose, ensuring it is positioned between the air pump and the air stone. This valve allows for air volume adjustment.
  3. Connect Return Valve (Check Valve): Install the return valve into the air hose. This valve prevents water from flowing back into the air pump in case of a power outage or if the pump is placed below the water level. Ensure the arrow on the valve points towards the air stone (away from the pump).
  4. Connect to Air Pump: Attach the other end of the air hose (with the regulating and return valves) to the air outlet on the FEDOUR air pump.
  5. Position Air Stone: Place the air stone at the bottom of your aquarium. The included suction cup can be used to secure the air hose or air stone if needed.
  6. Position Air Pump: Place the air pump in a dry location, preferably above the water level of your aquarium. If the pump must be placed below the water level, ensure the return valve is correctly installed and functioning to prevent water backflow.
  7. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 110V electrical outlet. The pump will begin operating immediately.

Operating Instructions

Once the pump is set up and plugged in, it will start operating automatically. The FEDOUR Aquarium Air Pump is designed for continuous operation.

Adjusting Air Volume

The included regulating valve allows you to control the amount of air bubbles produced by the air stone. Rotate the knob on the regulating valve to increase or decrease the airflow to achieve the desired aeration level for your aquarium. Refer to Video 1 in the Setup section for a visual guide on adjusting the air volume.

Quiet Operation

The FEDOUR air pump features an ultra-quiet design, utilizing ABS thickening engineering plastics and soft rubber foot pads to minimize vibration and noise. The internal motor is designed without direct hard contact with the housing, further reducing operational sound. The tightly occluded upper and lower shells form a robust structure that contains noise effectively.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your air pump.

  • Cleaning the Pump Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the air pump with a soft, damp cloth as needed. Ensure the pump is unplugged before cleaning. Do not immerse the pump in water.
  • Air Stone Cleaning/Replacement: Over time, air stones can become clogged, reducing airflow. If you notice a decrease in bubble production, clean the air stone by gently scrubbing it or soaking it in a mild bleach solution (rinse thoroughly before reintroducing to the tank). Replace the air stone if cleaning does not restore performance.
  • Air Filter Cotton: The pump includes an air filter cotton. Check this periodically and replace it if it appears dirty or clogged to maintain optimal air intake.
  • Hose Inspection: Periodically check the air hose for kinks, cracks, or blockages. Replace the hose if any damage is found to ensure consistent airflow.
