6. Setup

6.1 Battery Installation

The MS8910 tester requires a 3V Lithium Battery (not included) for operation.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the tester.
  2. Use a small screwdriver or coin to open the battery cover.
  3. Insert a new 3V Lithium Battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery cover and secure it firmly.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Powering On/Off

The MS8910 automatically identifies passive components (resistors, capacitors, diodes) when connected to the test pins.

  1. Ensure the tester is powered on.
  2. Gently press the gold-plated test pins onto the SMD component you wish to measure.
  3. The tester will automatically detect the component type and display its value on the LCD.
  4. If the component type is not automatically detected or you wish to cycle through specific measurement modes (e.g., Resistance, Capacitance, Diode), press the FUNC button.
