Setup Guide

1. Connecting the Hub

Connect the integrated USB-C cable of the GKEAPZA Hub directly to the USB-C port on your host device (laptop, tablet, or smartphone).

2. Power Delivery (PD)

To charge your host device while using the hub, connect your original USB-C power adapter to the PD 100W USB-C port on the hub. Ensure you use a USB-C to USB-C cable from your power brick for pass-through charging to function correctly.

3. Display Connection (HDMI)

Connect an HDMI cable from the hub's HDMI port to your external monitor, TV, or projector. The hub supports 4K resolution at 60Hz for a crisp and clear display. Ensure your display and HDMI cable support 4K@60Hz for optimal performance.

4. Network Connection (Gigabit Ethernet)

For a stable wired internet connection, plug an Ethernet cable into the RJ45 port on the hub. This provides speeds up to 1000Mbps.

Note for MacBook Users: If this is your first time using the Ethernet port, you may need to configure network settings. Go to 'System Preferences' > 'Network', click the '+' button, and select 'USB 10 / 100 / 1000 LAN' to create a new service. Once created, click on the new service to ensure it shows green (connected successfully).

Care and Maintenance

  • Keep the hub away from water, fire, and corrosive liquids.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Do not disassemble the device.
  • Clean the hub with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Store the hub in a cool, dry place when not in use.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power/Charging Issue: Ensure your power adapter is connected to the hub's PD port and that you are using a USB-C to USB-C cable from your power brick. Some devices may require the power adapter to be connected to the laptop first for stable operation, especially with high-power peripherals.
  • Data Transfer Not Working with Charging: The hub may not support simultaneous data transfer and charging for all devices. If you encounter this, try disconnecting and reconnecting the hub, or prioritize either charging or data transfer.
  • External Drive Not Showing Up: If an external hard drive or SSD is not recognized, ensure the hub is receiving sufficient power. Connect your laptop's power adapter to the hub's PD port.
  • Noisy Audio through 3.5mm Jack: If you experience a 60Hz hum or other noise when power is applied through the charging USB-C port and audio is played, this can sometimes be due to grounding issues. Try using the audio jack without the power adapter connected, or consider using a separate audio solution if the issue persists.
  • Ethernet Connection Issues: For MacBooks, ensure the Ethernet service is properly set up in 'System Preferences' > 'Network' as described in the Setup Guide. For all devices, check that the Ethernet cable is securely connected and that your network is active.
  • Display Not Working: Verify that your HDMI cable is securely connected to both the hub and the display. Ensure your device supports DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C. Try restarting your device or reconnecting the hub.
