2. Product Overview

3. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the dispenser from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage. Inspect the unit for any damage.
- Placement:
- Place the dispenser on a flat, stable, and level surface.
- Ensure there is at least 10 cm (4 inches) of space from the back and sides of the dispenser to allow for proper ventilation.
- Avoid placing the dispenser in direct sunlight or near heat-generating appliances.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe down the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
- Water Bottle Installation (Bottom-Load):
- Open the lower cabinet door of the dispenser.
- Remove the cap from a new 19-liter (5-gallon) water bottle.
- Insert the probe from the dispenser into the opening of the water bottle. Ensure the probe is fully inserted.
- Slide the water bottle into the cabinet and close the door securely.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Do not turn on the heating or cooling switches immediately.
- Initial Water Fill and Flush:
- Allow approximately 5-10 minutes for the water tanks inside the dispenser to fill completely. You may hear gurgling sounds as water fills.
- Once filled, dispense and discard at least two cups of water from both the cold and warm water spouts to flush the system.
- Activate Cooling/Heating: Turn on the cold water switch (usually located on the back of the unit) and the warm water switch (if desired). Allow 1-2 hours for the water to reach optimal temperatures.
4. Operating Instructions
Your Bosch RDW1576 water dispenser is designed for simple operation.
Dispensing Cold Water:
- Place a cup or glass under the cold water spout.
- Press the cold water dispensing lever or button.
- Release the lever/button once the desired amount of water is dispensed.
Dispensing Warm Water:
- Place a cup or glass under the warm water spout.
- Press the warm water dispensing lever or button. Exercise caution as the water can be hot.
- Release the lever/button once the desired amount of water is dispensed.
Note: The dispenser will automatically maintain the set cold and warm temperatures as long as the respective switches are on.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your water dispenser.
- Exterior Cleaning:
- Unplug the dispenser before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals.
- Drip Tray Cleaning:
- Remove the drip tray and grill.
- Empty any accumulated water and wash the tray and grill with warm, soapy water.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry before reattaching.
- Internal Cleaning (Recommended every 3-6 months):
- Unplug the dispenser and remove the water bottle.
- Drain all water from the cold and warm tanks using the spouts and the drain plug (usually located at the back or bottom of the unit).
- Prepare a cleaning solution (e.g., a mixture of water and food-grade citric acid or a mild bleach solution – 1 teaspoon of bleach per gallon of water).
- Pour the cleaning solution into the water reservoir (where the probe enters the bottle).
- Allow the solution to sit for 15-30 minutes.
- Drain the cleaning solution completely through all spouts until the tanks are empty.
- Rinse the system thoroughly by filling the reservoir with clean water and draining it completely through all spouts. Repeat this rinsing process 2-3 times to ensure no cleaning solution residue remains.
- Reinstall a fresh water bottle and plug in the dispenser.
6. Troubleshooting
Before contacting service, please check the following common issues and solutions:
