5.2. Wall Compatibility
The BAMEOS Floating Shelf is designed for installation on various wall types. Ensure you use the correct mounting hardware for your specific wall material.

Image: Wall compatibility guide, indicating suitable wall types (wood stud, drywall, concrete) and unsuitable types (plasterboard).
- Wood Stud: Use wood screws directly into the stud.
- Drywall: Use the provided plastic anchors and screws.
- Concrete Wall: Use appropriate concrete anchors and screws (may require a masonry drill bit).
- Plasterboard Wall: Not recommended for direct mounting due to insufficient strength.
5.3. Installation Options
The unique design of the brackets allows for two distinct installation styles:

Image: Brackets installed above the shelf board.
- Brackets Below: Provides a clean, floating appearance.
- Brackets Above: Can act as a subtle bookend or barrier for items on the shelf.
5.4. Step-by-Step Installation Guide
- Mark Placement: Choose the desired location on your wall. Use a level and pencil to mark the positions for the two brackets. Ensure the marks are level and spaced appropriately for the shelf board.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Based on your wall type and chosen anchors, drill pilot holes at the marked locations. For drywall, insert the plastic anchors into the drilled holes. For wood studs, drill a smaller pilot hole suitable for the screw.
- Attach Brackets to Wall: Align each metal bracket with the drilled holes. Insert the longer M4x50mm screws through the bracket holes and into the wall anchors or directly into the wood studs. Tighten securely with a screwdriver. Ensure the brackets are firmly attached and level.
- Position Wood Board: Place the wood shelving panel onto the installed brackets in your desired orientation (brackets below or above).
- Secure Board to Brackets: Using the shorter M3.5x10mm screws, attach the wood board to the brackets. There are pre-drilled holes on the underside/topside of the board and on the brackets for this purpose. Use a hand tool to avoid stripping the wood.
- Final Check: Gently test the shelf's stability and ensure all screws are tight. Do not place items on the shelf until you are confident it is securely mounted.

6.4. Cleaning and Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and integrity of your shelf:
- Cleaning: Wipe with a dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that may damage the wood finish or metal brackets.
- Moisture: While the wood is lacquered, prolonged exposure to excessive moisture should be avoided. Promptly wipe up any spills.
- Inspection: Periodically check all mounting screws and connections to ensure they remain tight and secure. Retighten if necessary.
7. Troubleshooting
- Shelf is not level: Ensure that the initial marks on the wall were level. If not, remove the shelf, adjust the marks, and re-install. Verify that the brackets are securely tightened and not warped.
- Shelf feels loose after installation: This indicates that the anchors or screws are not properly secured in the wall. Remove the shelf, inspect the anchors and holes. If the holes are stripped, you may need to use larger anchors or relocate the shelf slightly. Ensure you are using the correct anchors for your wall type.
- Wood board wobbles on brackets: Ensure the small screws connecting the wood board to the brackets are fully tightened. Avoid over-tightening, which can strip the wood.
- Difficulty drilling into wall: Ensure you are using the correct drill bit for your wall material (e.g., masonry bit for concrete). If hitting a stud, use a wood screw directly.
