3. Setup

3.1 Initial Power-Up

  1. Connect Power: Plug the AC adapter into the laptop's power port and then into a wall outlet.
  2. First Boot: Open the laptop lid and press the power button. The laptop will begin the initial Windows setup process.
  3. Follow On-Screen Instructions: Complete the Windows 10 S Mode setup, including region, language, network connection, and user account creation.

3.2 Windows 10 S Mode

Your laptop comes with Windows 10 S Mode, which is a version of Windows 10 streamlined for security and performance. In S Mode, you can only install apps from the Microsoft Store and must use Microsoft Edge for safe browsing. If you need to install apps from outside the Microsoft Store, you can switch out of S Mode to Windows 10 Home or Pro. This switch is irreversible.

To switch out of S Mode:

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
  2. In the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, select Go to the Store.
  3. On the Switch out of S Mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press the power button located on the side or top right of the keyboard.
  • Shut Down: Click the Start button, then Power, and select Shut down.
  • Restart: Click the Start button, then Power, and select Restart.
  • Sleep: Close the laptop lid or click the Start button, then Power, and select Sleep.

4.2 Using the Keyboard and Touchpad

  • Keyboard: The laptop features a full-size keyboard. Use the Fn key in combination with function keys (F1-F12) for special functions like adjusting brightness, volume, or enabling/disabling Wi-Fi.
  • Touchpad: The integrated touchpad supports multi-touch gestures. Tap to click, use two fingers to scroll, and pinch to zoom. Refer to Windows settings for customizing touchpad gestures.

4.3 Connecting Peripherals
