1. Introduction and Overview

2. Setup

2.1 Package Contents

Before proceeding with the installation, please verify that all items are present in the package:

2.2 Connecting the Phone

Follow these steps to connect your Fanvil H2U IP Phone:

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the side of the phone base.
  2. Connect to Network (PoE): If using Power over Ethernet (PoE), connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the phone and the other end to a PoE-enabled network switch or router. The phone will power on automatically.
  3. Connect to Network (Non-PoE): If not using PoE, connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the phone and the other end to your network switch or router. Then, connect a compatible power adapter (not always included, check package) to the power port on the phone and to a power outlet.
  4. Initial Boot-up: The phone will begin its boot-up sequence. This may take a few moments. Once complete, the phone will attempt to register with your SIP server.

The Fanvil H2U supports both desktop and wall-mounted installations.

3. Operating the Phone

3.1 Making a Call

  1. Pick up the Handset: Lift the handset from its cradle. You should hear a dial tone.
  2. Dial the Number: Use the keypad to enter the desired phone number.
  3. Initiate Call: The call will typically connect automatically after dialing, or you may need to press a "Dial" or "Send" button if available on your system.

3.2 Answering a Call

When the phone rings, simply lift the handset to answer the incoming call.

3.3 Using Speed Dial Keys

The Fanvil H2U features 10 speed dial keys for quick access to frequently called numbers. These keys must be configured by your system administrator or through the phone's web interface (if accessible).

3.4 Programmable DSS Key

The single programmable DSS (Direct Station Select) key can be configured for various functions such as Busy Lamp Field (BLF), speed dial, intercom, or call pickup. Its function is determined by your system's configuration.
