Video: Full installation guide for the VIGO VG6021 Elan Sliding Shower Door, demonstrating each step of the assembly and mounting process.

3.1. Structural Rail Assembly

  1. Ensure the door stopper and wall mount brackets are attached to the structural rail.
  2. Place the structural rail inside the wall-to-wall opening at a height of 72 3/8" to ensure the rail fits within the opening.
  3. If the rail is too long, cut the rail on the end without the door stopper. Remove the door stopper before cutting. The rail should be 3/4" shorter than the actual wall-to-wall opening.

3.2. Fixed Glass Panel Attachment

  1. Attach the fixed glass panel onto the structural rail. Don't forget to put the fixed holder between the glass and the rail.
  2. Screw the ends of the fixed panel holders to the structural rail to secure the fixed panel.
  3. Attach the door side seal strip onto the fixed panel side that rests against the wall.

3.3. Dry Fitting and Marking

  1. Make sure that you have the fixed panel bottom clip and fixed panel bottom guide for the dry fitting.
  2. Perform a dry fitting by placing the resulting construction into the shower place.
  3. Use a level to make sure the shower door enclosure is leveled.
  4. Mark your locations for the wall mount brackets, bottom clip, and fixed panel bottom guide.

3.4. Drilling and Mounting

  1. Unscrew brass plates from wall mount brackets.
  2. Slide wall mount brackets back onto each end of the structural rail.
  3. Place a bracket on each wall.
  4. Mark the exact hole location for drilling.
  5. Drill holes into the wall using a 1/4" drill bit. Once holes are drilled, insert white anchors into the wall.
  6. Place the brass plate onto the wall over the anchor and screw onto the wall using a 1 5/8" hex screw.
  7. Repeat the previous steps to attach the other brass plate and fixed panel bottom guide.

3.5. Final Assembly

  1. Install the seal strip and rollers onto the sliding door.
  2. Place the door panel inside the shower. Make sure to rest the glass in a manner that does not damage the glass.
  3. Close the door to ensure it reaches the wall.
  4. The rollers have a built-in mechanism to adjust the door to align with out of plumb wall, up to 3/8". If needed, loosen the set screw and adjust the roller accordingly. For more information, see pages 15 and 16 for roller adjustment in the full manual.
  5. Install anti-jump guides into holes on the door just below the structural rail.
  6. Install the door handle onto the sliding door.
  7. Insert the door threshold into the fixed panel bottom guide and lay the threshold flat on the shower base or floor to the wall. If the threshold is too long, cut it with a hacksaw to the needed length.
  8. Install flanged door side seal strips to each glass panel.
  9. Apply silicone to the inside of the shower. Do not use the door for the first 24 hours after silicone is applied.

4. Operating Instructions

The VIGO Elan E-Class shower door features a smooth-gliding mechanism for effortless opening and closing. Simply grasp the handle and slide the door along the track. Ensure the track is free of obstructions for optimal performance.

5. Maintenance

To maintain the pristine condition of your VIGO shower door, regular cleaning is recommended. Use a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for glass and stainless steel surfaces. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could scratch or damage the finish.

  • Glass Cleaning: For best results, clean glass panels after each use to prevent water spot buildup.
  • Hardware Care: Wipe down stainless steel components with a soft, damp cloth to remove soap residue and maintain shine.
  • Track Maintenance: Periodically inspect and clean the sliding track to ensure smooth operation and prevent debris accumulation.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your VIGO shower door, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Door Not Sliding Smoothly: Check the sliding track for any debris or obstructions. Ensure rollers are clean and properly adjusted. Refer to the installation video or manual for roller adjustment instructions.
