6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the clock surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these may damage the display or casing.

6.2 Battery Replacement

When the display dims or functions become erratic, it is time to replace the batteries. Open the battery compartment, remove the old batteries, and insert two new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Display / Dim Display:
Check battery installation. Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity. Replace batteries if they are old or depleted.
  • Incorrect Time:
If in Germany, ensure the DCF function is enabled and the clock is in a location with good signal reception. If outside Germany, ensure the DCF function is disabled and manually set the time and date as per section 5.1.
  • Alarm Not Sounding:
Verify that the alarm is activated (check for the alarm icon on the display). Ensure the alarm time is set correctly.
  • DCF Synchronization Failure:
Move the clock to a different location, preferably near a window and away from electronic devices that may cause interference. If persistent, disable DCF and set the time manually.
