5. Setup and Programming

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the keypad.
  2. Open the compartment and insert the 3 AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.

5.2 Mounting the Keypad

Use the provided mounting hardware to secure the keypad in a convenient location within 100 feet of your gate operator. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and allows for easy access. Consider placement that protects the keypad from direct harsh weather conditions if possible.

5.3 Programming the Keypad

Follow these steps to program your keypad with your Mighty Mule gate operator:

  1. On your gate operator's main control board, locate and press the S3 button. Hold it until you hear a beep. The S3 button is typically labeled with an arrow symbol similar to a computer's 'return' key.
  2. On the MMK200 keypad, enter your desired personal identification number (PIN) code. This code can be up to 6 digits long.
  3. After entering your PIN code, press and hold the Start/Stop button on the keypad. This button is located at the bottom right and has directional arrows. Continue holding until you hear a loud beep from the gate operator.
  4. The keypad is now programmed. Test the code by entering your PIN and pressing the Start/Stop button (do not hold this time). The gate should activate.

6. Operating Instructions

To operate your gate using the MMK200 Wireless Digital Keypad:

  1. Enter your programmed personal identification number (PIN) code.
  2. Press the Start/Stop button (bottom right button with directional arrows).
  3. The gate operator will activate, opening or closing the gate.

The keypad's soft blue backlighting will illuminate when buttons are pressed, aiding visibility in low-light conditions.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Battery Replacement

The keypad requires 3 AAA alkaline batteries. If the keypad's backlighting dims or the unit becomes unresponsive, replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1.

7.2 Cleaning

Wipe the keypad's surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or electronic components.

8. Troubleshooting
