Operating Instructions
Brewing Espresso
- Prepare the Portafilter: Grind fresh coffee beans to an espresso-fine consistency. Fill the filter basket with the desired amount of coffee (e.g., 7g for single, 14g for double).
- Tamp the Coffee: Use the coffee press to tamp the grounds evenly and firmly. Wipe any loose grounds from the rim of the portafilter.
- Insert Portafilter: Attach the portafilter to the group head, twisting it firmly to the right until it is secure.
- Place Cup: Position your espresso cup(s) under the portafilter spouts.
- Start Brewing: Lift the brew lever to start the extraction. Observe the flow of espresso.
- Stop Brewing: Lower the brew lever once the desired volume of espresso is reached (typically 25-30 seconds for a double shot).
- Remove Portafilter: Carefully remove the portafilter and discard the used coffee puck. Rinse the portafilter.
Steaming Milk
- Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel milk pitcher with cold milk, typically to just below the spout.
- Purge Steam Wand: Open the steam knob briefly to purge any condensed water from the steam wand. Close the knob.
- Steam Milk: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam knob fully.
- Texture Milk: Keep the tip near the surface to create a swirling motion and incorporate air for foam. Once the desired volume is achieved, lower the wand deeper into the milk to heat it to temperature (around 60-65°C or 140-150°F).
- Stop Steaming: Close the steam knob and immediately remove the pitcher.
- Clean Steam Wand: Wipe the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly open the steam knob again to purge any milk from inside the wand.

- Steam Wand: Always wipe and purge the steam wand immediately after each use.
- Exterior: Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
