3. Setup Guide

3.1 Charging the Device

Before initial use, fully charge the scanner. Connect the provided Micro USB cable to the scanner's charging port and the other end to a USB power adapter or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

3.2 Bluetooth Pairing

The NetumScan NSR3 supports Bluetooth SPP and HID modes for wireless connectivity. Follow these steps to pair your scanner with a host device:

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered on.
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your computer, smartphone, or tablet.
  3. Scan the appropriate pairing barcode from the scanner's quick start guide or full manual to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. The scanner's name will typically appear as "RT CCD Scanner" in your device's Bluetooth discovery list.
  4. Select "RT CCD Scanner" from the list of available devices to complete the pairing process.

Once paired, the scanner will automatically connect to the last paired device when powered on and within range (up to 10 meters or 30 feet).

4. Operation

4.1 Scanning Barcodes

To scan a barcode, aim the scanner's lens at the barcode and press the trigger button. The scanner will emit a successful scan beep (if enabled) and transmit the barcode data to the connected device. The NSR3 is capable of reading all standard 1D barcodes, including those displayed on LCD screens of computers or mobile devices, as well as poorly printed or damaged barcodes.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance, keep the scanner's lens clean. Use a soft, lint-free cloth, slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution, to gently wipe the lens and exterior. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the device.

5.2 Battery Care

The scanner is equipped with a Lithium-ion battery. To prolong battery life:

  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
  • A full charge provides approximately 15 days of continuous operation.
