4. Setup & Installation
The ATOTO S8 Ultra is designed for double-DIN dash kits. Professional installation is recommended for wiring and proper integration into your vehicle's electrical system.
4.1. Mounting
The S8G2A78UL adopts the UDH07D mounting style. Ensure your vehicle's dash kit is compatible. Most North American double-DIN mounting frames with a 172mm x 97mm opening are suitable. An extra frame adapter is included to extend the size to 178mm x 101.5mm if needed.
4.2. Wiring Connections
Refer to the wiring diagram provided in Image 2.1 for connecting the power cable, antennas, and other accessories. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent malfunctions.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Internet Access
The S8 Ultra offers four methods to connect to the internet:
- Wi-Fi: Connect to available Wi-Fi networks or a personal hotspot from your smartphone.
- Bluetooth Tethering: Share your phone's internet connection via Bluetooth.
- USB Tethering: Share your phone's internet connection via a USB cable.
- Built-in 4G Cellular Modem: Insert a Nano SIM card (not included) into the dedicated slot for direct 4G LTE connectivity. Ensure your SIM card's frequency bands are supported by the unit.
5.2. Dual Bluetooth with aptX HD
The unit features dual Bluetooth modules. BT1 supports the Qualcomm aptX HD codec, providing high-definition audio streaming for compatible devices. BT2 handles other Bluetooth connections simultaneously.
5.3. Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto
Connect your compatible iPhone or Android smartphone wirelessly or via USB to access CarPlay or Android Auto. This allows for integrated navigation, music, messaging, and voice assistant features directly on the S8 Ultra's display.
5.4. HD Surround-View & Live Rear-View (VSV&LRV)
When connected to an ATOTO AC-HD03LR camera (sold separately), the system can display a virtual surround-view (bird's-eye view) and a live rear-view, even when moving forward, enhancing situational awareness.
5.5. Hands Gesture Control
The embedded gesture sensor allows for control of tracks and volume using specific hand movements. Up to 24 system options can be assigned or programmed for gesture control.

5.6. Speed Compensated Volume Control (SCVC)
SCVC automatically adjusts the system's volume in relation to your vehicle's speed, compensating for road and wind noise to maintain consistent audio levels.

5.7. TrackHU GPS Tracking App
The TrackHU app is designed for GPS tracking of your vehicle. It operates without the need for an external SIM card or battery, providing global tracking and detailed reports.

5.7.1. Accessing TrackHU
The TrackHU app icon is hidden by default to protect user privacy. To make it visible:
- For A6 PF / A6 PP / S8 (Gen2) models: Go to Settings > Device, then tap "Device" 4 times quickly. A prompt will confirm the app is now visible.
- For AD6 models: Go to Settings > System > About Device > Software Version Info, then tap "Serial Number" 4 times.
To hide the app icon again, repeat the same steps.
5.7.2. Enabling GPS and Network
Ensure your car stereo's GPS and network (Wi-Fi or 4G) are enabled for TrackHU to function correctly.
5.7.3. Activating Tracking
Open the TrackHU app on the car stereo and tap the status button to activate it. The status indicator will turn green when enabled.
5.7.4. Accessing Tracking Data
Use your phone to scan the QR code displayed in the TrackHU app on the stereo. This will direct you to the TrackHU Manager app or website, where you can view:
- Track Playback: Review past routes and driving history.
- Detailed Driving Report: Access comprehensive reports of your drives.
- Geofence: Set up virtual boundaries and receive notifications when your vehicle enters or exits these areas.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Firmware Updates
