4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the disinfection system from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit. Do not block any ventilation openings.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the unit and then plug it into a suitable electrical outlet (230-240VAC, 50Hz).
  4. Initial Check: Open and close the door to ensure it latches correctly. The unit should be ready for operation.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to disinfect items using your Philips UV-C Disinfection System:

  1. Prepare Items: Ensure items to be disinfected are clean and dry. Arrange them on the removable tray, ensuring they are not overlapping excessively to allow UV-C light to reach all surfaces.
  2. Place Items: Open the unit door, carefully slide the tray with items into the chamber, and then securely close the door. The unit will not operate if the door is not fully closed.
  3. Select Disinfection Mode: The unit offers pre-set modes for various items:
    • 2 minutes: For small objects (e.g., keys, earphones).
    • 3 minutes: Standard timer, quickly activated by pressing the start button twice. Suitable for medium objects.
    • 5 minutes: For multiple medium objects.
    • 8 minutes: For large objects.
    Press the corresponding button on the control panel for your desired disinfection time.
  4. Start Disinfection: Press the "Start" button to begin the disinfection cycle. The UV-C lamps will illuminate, and the timer will count down.
  5. Cycle Completion: Once the cycle is complete, the unit will signal with an audible alert or indicator light. Carefully open the door and remove the disinfected items.
  6. Safety During Operation: If the door is opened during a cycle, the UV-C lamps will automatically turn off. Close the door to resume the cycle from where it left off.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Cleaning the Interior: Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning the interior. Wipe the interior surfaces and the removable tray with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure all surfaces are dry before operating the unit again.
  • UV-C Lamp Replacement: UV-C lamps have a limited lifespan. If the disinfection effectiveness appears to decrease or a lamp fails, contact authorized service personnel for replacement. Do not attempt to replace lamps yourself.
