5. Setup
5.1. Inserting and Formatting the MicroSD Card
- Ensure the dash cam is powered off.
- Insert a Class 10 or higher speed MicroSD card (up to 32GB recommended) into the MicroSD card slot until it clicks into place.
- Power on the dash cam.
- Access the menu settings and navigate to the 'Format' option.
- Select 'Yes' to format the MicroSD card. This prepares the card for optimal performance and prevents 'card full' errors.
Important: Always format a new MicroSD card on the dash cam before first use. Regular formatting (e.g., monthly) is recommended to maintain card health and prevent recording issues.

5.2. Mounting the Dash Cam
- Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the dash cam.
- Attach the suction mount to the dash cam.
- Press the suction cup firmly against the windshield and flip the lever to secure it.
- Adjust the dash cam's angle to ensure a clear view of the road ahead, avoiding obstruction from the rearview mirror or wipers.
5.3. Power Connection
- Connect the provided car charger to the dash cam's USB port.
- Plug the other end of the car charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
- The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.
Note: The built-in 150mAh battery is for emergency recording and saving settings only. Keep the dash cam plugged in at all times for continuous operation.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Power On/Off
- Automatic: The dash cam powers on and starts recording automatically when the car engine starts. It powers off after 5 seconds when the engine is turned off and external power is disconnected.
- Manual: Press and hold the Power Button to manually turn the dash cam on or off.
6.2. Recording Modes and Features
The Milerong Dash Cam offers several recording features to ensure comprehensive coverage:
- Loop Recording: This feature ensures continuous recording by overwriting the oldest unlocked footage when the MicroSD card is full. Video segments are typically recorded in 1, 3, or 5-minute intervals.

- G-Sensor (Emergency Recording): The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video file to prevent it from being overwritten by loop recording. Adjust the G-Sensor sensitivity in the settings if you experience frequent accidental locking.

- Parking Monitor: When enabled, the dash cam will automatically start recording if it detects motion or impact while your vehicle is parked and the engine is off. This provides surveillance for potential incidents when you are away from your car.

- Motion Detection: This feature allows the dash cam to start recording when it detects movement in front of the lens. It is recommended to turn off Motion Detection while driving to ensure seamless loop recording.

6.3. Menu Navigation and Settings

- While the dash cam is not recording, press the Menu Button to enter the settings menu.

- Press the OK Button to select an option or confirm a setting.
- Press the Menu Button again to exit the settings menu.
