ZESUPER 9500 lb Electric Winch User Manual

Model: USAM-SPEW011

Thank you for choosing ZESUPER. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your electric winch.

Product Overview

The ZESUPER 9500 lb Electric Winch is designed for reliable pulling power in various off-road and recovery situations. It features a powerful 12V DC 4.56HP series-wound motor with a 218:1 gear ratio, providing a rated pulling force of 9,500 lbs. The winch is built with a scratch-resistant matte black finish for durability and corrosion resistance.

Key features include a heavy-duty sealed control box for faster signal response, pure copper cables for stability, and IP68 dustproof and waterproof rating. It comes with an 80ft UV-resistant synthetic rope known for its ductility and safety. The 3-stage planetary gears ensure high torque multiplication, and an auto-brake system secures loads during power failures.

Control options include a next-gen all-weather wireless remote with a 66ft range and a wired controller with a corrosion-resistant casing for plug-and-play operation.

Setup Instructions

  1. Mounting the Winch: Securely attach the winch to a suitable mounting plate or bumper designed to handle the winch's maximum pulling force. Ensure all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
  2. Installing the Fairlead: Mount the hawse fairlead to the winch mounting plate. Ensure it is aligned correctly with the winch drum to prevent rope damage.
  3. Wiring the Winch: Connect the winch to your vehicle's 12V battery system. Connect the red wire to the positive (+) terminal of the battery and the black wire to the negative (-) terminal. Ensure all connections are clean, tight, and properly insulated to prevent short circuits. Refer to the wiring diagram below.
  4. Mounting the Control Box: Position the control box in a protected location, away from direct impact or excessive moisture. Connect the control box cables to the winch motor terminals as indicated in the wiring diagram.
  5. Spooling the Synthetic Rope: Ensure the synthetic rope is properly and evenly spooled onto the winch drum. Apply light tension during initial spooling to prevent tangles and ensure proper layering.
  6. Initial Test: After installation, perform a brief test of the winch with no load to ensure all functions (IN/OUT) operate correctly using both the wired and wireless remotes.

Operating Instructions

Safety Precautions:

  • Always wear heavy-duty gloves and eye protection when operating the winch.
  • Keep hands and clothing clear of the rope, fairlead, and hook during operation.
  • Never exceed the rated pulling capacity of the winch.
  • Ensure the vehicle is securely braked and chocked before winching.
  • Do not disengage the clutch under load.
  • Avoid continuous winching for extended periods to prevent motor overheating. Allow the motor to cool if it becomes hot to the touch.

Winching Procedure:

  1. Prepare the Vehicle: Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels of your vehicle.
  2. Prepare the Load: Identify a secure anchor point for the winch hook. Use a tree saver strap or recovery strap around trees or other objects to prevent damage.
  3. Extend the Rope: Disengage the clutch to allow free spooling of the synthetic rope. Pull out enough rope to reach your anchor point. Re-engage the clutch firmly.
  4. Connect the Hook: Securely attach the hook to the anchor point. Ensure the safety latch on the hook is closed.
  5. Apply Tension: Use the wired or wireless remote control to slowly take up slack in the rope until there is light tension.
  6. Begin Winching: Stand clear of the winch and rope. Use the remote control to slowly winch in the rope. Monitor the winching operation closely. If the motor sounds strained or slows significantly, pause to allow it to cool or consider using a snatch block to double the pulling force.
  7. Spooling Back: Once the recovery is complete, disengage the clutch and carefully guide the rope back onto the drum, ensuring it spools evenly under light tension. Re-engage the clutch.

Maintenance

  • Rope Inspection: Regularly inspect the synthetic rope for any signs of wear, fraying, cuts, or damage. If the rope is significantly damaged, replace it immediately.
  • Electrical Connections: Periodically check all electrical connections for corrosion, looseness, or damage. Clean terminals as needed and ensure they are securely fastened.
  • Cleaning: Keep the winch clean from mud, dirt, and debris. Use a mild detergent and water to clean the exterior. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on electrical components.
  • Storage: If the winch will not be used for an extended period, ensure it is clean and dry before storage. Consider using a winch cover to protect it from elements.
  • Lubrication: While synthetic rope does not require lubrication, consult the manufacturer's guidelines for any specific lubrication requirements for mechanical parts of the winch.
