Read all instructions before installing or using this electric fireplace. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.
- Always unplug the fireplace when not in use or before cleaning.
- Do not operate any fireplace with a damaged cord or plug, or if the heater malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
- Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
- To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
- This fireplace is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the fireplace and away from the sides and rear.
- The fireplace is equipped with an overheating protection feature that automatically cuts off power if the heater becomes excessively hot. If this occurs, unplug the unit, wait 10-15 minutes for it to cool down, and then plug it back in.
- Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the fireplace.
- Use this fireplace only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
2. Product Overview
The Valuxhome MEF36 is a 36-inch recessed electric fireplace designed for in-wall installation, providing supplemental heating and ambient flame effects. It features a realistic log set and crystal media, multiple flame and fuel bed color options, and convenient control via a touch screen panel or remote control.

3. Installation
This electric fireplace is designed for in-wall recessed or flush-mounted installation. Professional installation is recommended. Ensure the power supply is disconnected before beginning installation.
3.1 Site Preparation
- Choose a suitable location for installation, ensuring adequate clearance from combustible materials.
- Construct a wall frame with an opening that matches the recessed dimensions of the fireplace: 31.57"W x 5.12"D x 20.28"H. Ensure the depth is sufficient for the unit.
- If necessary, move existing wall studs to accommodate the required opening size.
- Ensure a 120V AC power outlet is available within reach of the 6ft power cable, or prepare for hard-wired installation as per local electrical codes.
3.2 Mounting the Fireplace
- Carefully insert the fireplace into the prepared wall opening.
- Use the hanger brackets located on both sides of the unit to secure the firebox in place.
- Fasten the firebox using the 6 provided screws to ensure it is firmly mounted within the wall frame.
- Once the firebox is secured, attach the front glass panel to the unit. Refer to the detailed diagrams in the included manual for precise screw locations and assembly steps.
- Connect the power cord to a standard 120V AC outlet or complete the hard-wiring connection.

4. Operation
The Valuxhome MEF36 electric fireplace can be operated using the touch screen control panel on the unit or the included remote control.
4.1 Power On/Off
- Press the Power button on the touch screen or remote to turn the fireplace on or off.
4.2 Heating Functions
- Heat Level: Press the Heater button to cycle between 750W and 1500W heating modes. The fan operates smoothly with low noise.
- Temperature Control: Use the Temperature buttons to set the desired room temperature between 62°F and 86°F. The fireplace will automatically maintain the set temperature.
- Timer: Press the Timer button to set an auto-shut off time from 1 hour to 9 hours.
4.3 Flame and Fuel Bed Effects
- Flame Color: Press the Flame Color button to cycle through 3 different flame colors.
- Fuel Bed Color: Press the Fuel Bed Color button to cycle through 3 different fuel bed colors.
- Brightness/Dimmer: Use the Dimmer button to adjust the flame brightness through 5 variable levels.
- The flame can be operated with or without heat, allowing for year-round ambiance.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your electric fireplace.
- Cleaning: Always unplug the fireplace before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sprays.
- Glass Panel: Clean the glass panel with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive glass cleaner.
- Air Vents: Periodically check and clean the air intake and exhaust vents to ensure they are free from dust and debris, which can impede airflow and cause overheating.
- Power Cord: Inspect the power cord regularly for any signs of damage. If the cord is damaged, discontinue use and contact customer support.
6. Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your Valuxhome electric fireplace, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
