Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your Medic Therapeutics Dual Mode Contactless Digital Infrared Thermometer. This device is designed for quick and accurate temperature measurement of both body and surfaces, featuring a clear LCD screen, environmental temperature adaptability, auto shutoff, and selectable Celsius/Fahrenheit units.

Safety Information

Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before using the thermometer to ensure proper operation and to prevent injury or damage to the device.

• Ensure batteries are installed correctly before first use.
• Store the thermometer in a stable temperature environment. If the ambient temperature changes drastically, allow the thermometer to sit for approximately ten minutes before use.
• Do not measure body temperature immediately after measuring an extremely high or low temperature object.
• If the measurement object comes from an environment with a significant temperature difference, allow the thermometer to acclimate in the test environment for at least five minutes.
• Avoid taking measurements when the forehead is exposed to wind, water, sweat, or has applied cosmetics.
• Do not take measurements within 30 minutes of exercising, showering, or eating.
• Do not disassemble or modify the machine, as this may lead to inaccurate measurement results.
• Keep the inner cavity of the sensor and probe clean before and after use to maintain measurement accuracy.
• Clean exposed areas with a clean soft cloth, cotton swab, or medical alcohol wipes. Allow to dry before use.
• Do not immerse the thermometer in liquid.
• Do not leave the device in high or low temperature environments for extended periods.
• Avoid colliding, dropping, or inserting sharp objects into the thermometer.
• Measurements are not a substitute for a physician's diagnosis. Consult a healthcare professional for medical concerns.
• Dispose of the product and its components according to local laws and regulations at the end of its service life.

Key Components:

• Infrared Sensor: Located at the front, used for contactless temperature measurement.
• LCD Display: Shows temperature readings, mode, and other indicators.
• Measurement Trigger: Located on the handle, used to initiate a temperature reading.
• SET Button: Used to access settings and switch between modes.
• '+' and '-' Buttons: Used for navigation and adjusting settings.
• Battery Compartment: Located at the bottom of the handle.

Setup

Battery Installation:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover at the bottom of the thermometer's handle.
2. Slide or open the cover according to the indicator.
3. Insert two (2) AA alkaline cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The thermometer will power on automatically or can be turned on by pressing the measurement trigger.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off:

• To power on, press the measurement trigger.
• The device features an auto shutoff function to save battery energy. It will power off automatically after approximately 1 minute of inactivity.

Selecting Measurement Mode (Body/Surface) and Unit (Celsius/Fahrenheit):

The thermometer supports both body and surface temperature measurement, and allows switching between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).

1. With the thermometer powered on, press the SET button to enter the settings menu.
2. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to navigate through options such as measurement mode (body icon / house icon) or temperature unit (°C / °F).
3. Press SET again to confirm your selection and exit the settings.

Taking a Measurement:

1. Ensure the thermometer is in the desired measurement mode (Body or Surface).
2. Point the infrared sensor towards the object or person's forehead at a distance of 1cm to 5cm (0.39in to 1.97in).
3. Press the measurement trigger. The reading will appear on the LCD display within approximately 0.5 seconds.
4. The thermometer automatically saves the last temperature measured. It can store up to 32 recorded temperatures.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Thermometer:

• Regularly clean the inner cavity of the sensor and probe to ensure accurate measurements.
• Use a clean, soft cloth, cotton swab, or medical alcohol wipes to gently clean the surfaces.
• Allow the device to air dry completely before storage or next use.
• Do not immerse the thermometer in any liquid.
• Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the device.

Storage:

• Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
