  1. Plug in the router.
  2. Adjust the variable speed dial to the appropriate RPM for your material and bit type. Higher speeds are generally for softer materials and smaller bits, while lower speeds are for harder materials and larger bits.
  3. Turn on the tool using the On/Off switch.
  4. Allow the motor to reach full speed before engaging the workpiece.
  5. Guide the router smoothly and consistently along the desired path. Avoid forcing the tool, as this can lead to poor cuts and motor strain.
  6. After completing the cut, lift the router clear of the workpiece and turn off the tool. Wait for the bit to stop rotating completely before setting the tool down.

6.2 Using Guides

The DEWINNER router comes with a straight guide and a curved edge guide for enhanced precision:

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your router tool.

  • Cleaning: After each use, disconnect the tool from power and clean off any dust and debris from the motor housing, vents, and base. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  • Bit Care: Keep router bits clean and sharp. Dull bits can cause excessive heat and poor cuts.
  • Carbon Brushes: The carbon brushes are wear items. Check them periodically for wear. Replace both brushes when one is worn down to approximately 1/4 inch (6mm) or if the tool experiences reduced power or intermittent operation. Access the brushes via the external brush caps.
  • Storage: Store the tool in a dry, secure place out of reach of children.
