1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of your new lighting fixture. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning installation and retain this manual for future reference.

This fixture is designed for outdoor use in covered locations, such as porches or patios, where it will not be directly exposed to rain or standing water. While suitable for damp environments, it is not rated as fully water-resistant for direct water exposure.

2. Important Safety Information

  • WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Disconnect power at the fuse box or circuit breaker before installation or servicing.
  • All electrical connections must be in accordance with local codes, ordinances, and the National Electric Code (NEC). If you are unfamiliar with proper electrical wiring connections, consult a qualified electrician.
  • This fixture is intended for use with a 120V, 60Hz power supply.
  • Do not exceed the maximum wattage specified for the bulb.
  • Handle glass components with care to prevent breakage.
  • Ensure the fixture is securely mounted to a structurally sound surface.

5. Installation Instructions

Before You Begin: Ensure power is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box to prevent electrical shock.

  1. Prepare the Mounting Surface: If replacing an existing fixture, carefully remove it. Ensure the junction box is clean and accessible.
  2. Attach Mounting Plate: Secure the mounting plate (included in hardware kit) to the junction box using the provided screws. Ensure the plate is firmly attached and level.
  3. Make Electrical Connections:
    • Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box using a wire nut.
    • Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box using a wire nut.
    • Connect the ground wire (bare copper or green) from the fixture to the ground wire from the junction box (or to the green ground screw on the mounting plate) using a wire nut.
    Ensure all connections are secure and covered with wire nuts. Wrap electrical tape around the wire nuts and connections for added security.
  4. Position Wires: Carefully tuck all wires into the junction box, ensuring no wires are pinched.
  5. Mount the Fixture: Align the fixture with the mounting plate and secure it using the provided screws or nuts. Ensure the fixture is flush against the mounting surface.
  6. Install Bulb: Insert one E26 base bulb (maximum 60 watts, LED compatible) into the socket. Do not overtighten.
  7. Seal the Fixture (Crucial for Outdoor Use): Apply a bead of silicone sealant around the perimeter of the fixture where it meets the mounting surface to prevent water intrusion. Leave a small gap at the bottom for drainage.
  8. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Test the fixture to ensure it is working correctly.

6. Operating Instructions
