1. Introduction and Overview

Thank you for purchasing the Technical Pro BOOM8 Portable Rechargeable 8" LED Party Speaker and Rockville RMC-XLR High-End Metal DJ Handheld Wired Microphone bundle. This system is designed to provide powerful, portable audio with versatile connectivity options, including Bluetooth, USB, and FM radio, along with a high-quality wired microphone for vocal performances or announcements. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new audio system.

2. Package Contents

Please inspect the package contents to ensure all items are present and in good condition:

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before initial use, fully charge the BOOM8 speaker's built-in rechargeable battery for 8-10 hours. This ensures maximum battery life and optimal performance.

  • Connect the provided USB charging cable to the 5V DC IN port on the speaker.
  • Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a powered USB port.
  • The LED indicator on the control panel will show charging status.

3.2 Powering On/Off

  • Locate the POWER/VOLUME knob on the control panel.
  • To power on, rotate the knob clockwise from the 'OFF' position. The LCD screen will illuminate.
  • To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks into the 'OFF' position.

3.3 Connecting the Microphone

  • Ensure the speaker is powered on.
  • Connect one end of the provided XLR to 1/4" cable to the XLR output of the Rockville RMC-XLR microphone.
  • Connect the 1/4" end of the cable to the 'MIC IN' jack on the speaker's control panel.
  • Adjust the microphone volume using the speaker's main volume control.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Bluetooth Operation

The BOOM8 speaker features A2DP & AVRCP stereo Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming.

  • Power on the speaker. The speaker will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode or you may need to press the 'MODE' button to select Bluetooth.
  • On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  • Select "BOOM8" from the list of devices.
  • Once paired, you will hear a confirmation tone, and you can now stream audio wirelessly. The Bluetooth range is approximately 30 feet.
  • True Wireless Stereo (TWS): If you have two BOOM8 speakers, you can connect them for TWS sound. Power on both speakers, ensure they are in Bluetooth mode, and then press and hold the 'TWS' button on one speaker. It will connect to the other speaker automatically.

4.2 USB Playback

The speaker supports playing .mp3 files directly from a USB flash drive (up to 64GB).

  • Insert a USB flash drive containing .mp3 files into the 'USB' port on the control panel.
  • The speaker will automatically switch to USB mode and begin playing the first track. If not, press the 'MODE' button to select USB.
  • Use the playback controls (Play/Pause, Previous Track, Next Track) on the speaker or the remote control (if included) to navigate your music.
  • The 'Repeat' function is available for USB playback.

4.3 FM Radio Operation

  • Power on the speaker and press the 'MODE' button until 'FM' mode is selected.
  • Press the 'Play/Pause' button to initiate an automatic scan for FM stations. The speaker will save found stations.
  • Use the 'Previous Track' and 'Next Track' buttons to cycle through the saved FM stations.

4.4 AUX Input

  • Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the 'AUX' input using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
  • Press the 'MODE' button until 'AUX' mode is selected.
  • Audio from the connected device will now play through the speaker. Control playback from your external device.

4.5 LED Light Control

  • The BOOM8 speaker features an LED woofer.
  • Locate the 'LED' switch on the control panel to turn the LED lights on or off.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Always power off and unplug the speaker before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces of the speaker and microphone.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
  • Avoid getting moisture into any openings or ports.

5.2 Battery Care

  • To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Recharge the battery when the low battery indicator appears.
  • If storing the speaker for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% every few months to prevent deep discharge.
  • Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting
