Installation

Wiring Instructions (Single Pole, 3-Wire):

1. Turn off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling your heating system and turn it OFF. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
2. Remove Old Thermostat: Carefully remove your existing thermostat from the wall. Disconnect the wires, noting their connections.

Setup: Hoot Smart Phone App & WiFi Connection

The Hoot thermostat connects to your home WiFi network (2.4GHz only) to enable remote control and programming via the Hoot smartphone app.

1. Download the App: Search for "Hoot Smart Comfort Control" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and install it on your smartphone.
2. Create an Account: Open the Hoot app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new user account or log in if you already have one.
3. Add Device: In the app, select the option to add a new device.
4. Thermostat Pairing Mode: On the thermostat, follow the instructions to put it into WiFi pairing mode. This usually involves holding a specific button or navigating through a menu. The thermostat display will indicate when it's ready to connect.
5. Connect to WiFi: In the Hoot app, select your 2.4GHz home WiFi network and enter the password. The app will guide you through the connection process.
