3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover, usually on the handle or back of the device.
- Slide or open the cover according to the indicator.
- Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
3.2 Initial Power On
After installing batteries, press the power button (often integrated with the measurement button) to turn on the device. The display will show a self-test sequence before entering standby mode, ready for measurement.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Taking a Measurement
- Ensure the thermometer is in forehead measurement mode (if applicable, some models have object mode).
- Position the thermometer approximately 1-5 cm (0.4-2 inches) from the center of the forehead.
- Press the measurement button once.
- The measurement will be completed in one second, and the temperature will be displayed on the illuminated screen.
- The screen's color may change (e.g., green for normal, yellow/red for elevated) to provide a quick visual guide.
- If a high temperature is detected, the device may alert with vibration and sound.
4.2 Memory Function
The Yuwell YT-2 stores up to 60 previous temperature readings. To retrieve them:
- With the device powered on, press the memory button (often indicated by an 'M' or a book icon).
- Each subsequent press will cycle through the stored readings, from most recent to oldest.
4.3 Automatic Shutdown
To conserve battery life, the thermometer will automatically shut down after a period of inactivity following a measurement.
5. Maintenance and Care
5.1 Cleaning the Thermometer
To ensure accurate readings and hygiene, clean the thermometer regularly:
- Wipe the probe and body of the thermometer with a soft cloth dampened with alcohol (70% isopropyl) or a mild disinfectant.
- Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any other liquid.
- Allow the thermometer to air dry completely before storage or next use.
5.2 Storage
Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it in its original packaging or a protective case when not in use.
5.3 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace both AAA batteries as described in Section 3.1. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
