4. Setup

4.1 SIM Card and Battery Installation

  1. Remove the back cover of the device.
  2. Insert your micro SIM card into the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down, ensuring it clicks into place.
  3. Insert the provided 2000 mAh battery into the battery compartment.
  4. Replace the back cover.

4.2 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the Micro USB cable to the device's charging port and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.

  • The battery indicator LED will blink during charging and turn solid when fully charged.

4.3 Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Press and hold the power button until the LEDs illuminate.
  • To power off: Press and hold the power button until the LEDs turn off.

5. Operating the Device

5.1 Connecting to Wi-Fi

Once the M7000 is powered on, it will broadcast a Wi-Fi network. You can find the default Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password on the label inside the battery compartment or on the device's packaging.

  1. On your Wi-Fi enabled device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), search for available Wi-Fi networks.
  2. Select the M7000's SSID from the list.
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  4. Your device should now be connected to the internet via the M7000.

5.2 Managing Settings (Web Interface / tpMiFi App)

You can manage your M7000 settings through a web browser or the tpMiFi app.

  • Web Interface: Connect your device to the M7000's Wi-Fi. Open a web browser and enter http://tplinkmifi.net or http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar. Log in using the default password (usually "admin").
  • tpMiFi App: Download the tpMiFi app from the App Store or Google Play. Connect your smartphone to the M7000's Wi-Fi and open the app to manage settings like Wi-Fi name, password, data limits, and connected devices.

5.3 LED Indicators

The M7000 features several LED indicators to show its status:

  • Battery LED: Indicates battery level and charging status.
  • Wi-Fi LED: Indicates Wi-Fi network activity.
  • Internet/Network LED: Indicates 4G/3G network connection status.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Care

  • Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures.
  • Do not puncture, disassemble, or short-circuit the battery.

6.2 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.

6.3 Firmware Updates

Periodically check for firmware updates via the web management interface or the tpMiFi app. Firmware updates can improve performance, add new features, and enhance security.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your M7000, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
