2. Safety Information
⚠ WARNING ⚠
- Maximum weight capacity for this sling is 450 lbs. (Extra Large slings can handle up to 600 lbs). The weight limit for the patient lift may vary; always refer to the lift's manual.
- Before using the sling, read and fully understand the Tuffcare owner's manual for the patient lift and this sling.
- Immediately discard any sling that is bleached, torn, cut, frayed, or broken. Such damage can result in injury.
- DO NOT alter slings. Alterations can compromise the sling's integrity and safety.
Always ensure the sling holding straps are fully engaged onto the swivel bar hooks of the patient lift before attempting any transfer.

3. Setup and Compatibility
3.1 Compatibility
This universal patient lift sling is designed for use with any patient lift system equipped with a T-type swivel bar. Compatible brands include, but are not limited to, Tuffcare, Hoyer, Joerns, Drive, Medline, Lumex, McKesson, and ProActive.
3.2 Attaching the Sling to the Lift
- Ensure the patient lift is stable and in a safe operating position.
- Carefully attach the sling holding straps to the T-type swivel bar hooks.
- Verify that all straps are fully engaged and securely seated on the hooks before proceeding with patient transfer.
4. Operating Instructions
The Tuffcare Universal Toileting Sling is designed for easy application and removal while the patient is in a seated position, minimizing the need to turn the patient.
4.1 Patient Positioning
There are three primary ways to position a patient in this U-sling:
- Divided Leg (Open): The leg straps are positioned under each leg, separated.
- Divided Leg (Crossover): The leg straps are positioned under each leg and then crossed over each other for additional support.
- Closed Leg: The leg straps are brought together and attached, forming a closed loop under the legs.
Always select the positioning method that provides the most comfort and security for the patient, and ensure the padded safety belt is fastened securely around the patient's waist.

5. Sizing Guide
