Setup Instructions

1. Battery Installation

For optimal performance, install batteries in the main unit first, then in the remote sensors. This allows the main unit to properly receive signals from the sensors.

  1. Main Display Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit. Insert 2 new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.
  2. Remote Sensors: Open the battery compartment on each remote sensor. Insert 2 new AA batteries into each sensor, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartments.

2. Placement

Choose suitable locations for your main unit and remote sensors based on your monitoring needs.

  • Main Display Unit: Place the main unit in a convenient indoor location where you can easily view the display. It can stand on a table using its built-in kickstand, be hung on a wall using the hanging hole, or attached to a metallic surface like a refrigerator door with its integrated magnets.
  • Remote Sensors: Place one sensor inside your refrigerator and the other inside your freezer. Ensure they are not obstructed by large items or directly exposed to cold air vents for accurate readings. The sensors can be clipped onto a shelf or hung. For outdoor monitoring, place a sensor in a sheltered location to protect it from direct weather exposure.

3. Initial Connection

After installing batteries, the main unit should automatically connect to the sensors. If the sensor readings are not displayed (showing "---"), press and hold the "CLEAR" button on the main unit for 3 seconds to activate long reception mode and reset the connection. Ensure the red light on the sensor blinks, indicating it is transmitting data.

Operating Instructions

1. Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)

Press the "+/°C/°F" button on the main unit to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit display modes.

2. Setting Temperature Alarms

The thermometer allows you to set high and low temperature alarms for each sensor (Sensor 1, Sensor 2) and the indoor temperature. When the temperature exceeds these limits, an audible and visual alarm will activate.

  1. Press and hold the corresponding alarm button (e.g., "ALARM SENSOR1", "ALARM SENSOR2", or "ALARM INDOOR") for 3 seconds to enter the alarm setup mode for that channel. The MAX or MIN alarm value will start blinking.
  2. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the desired maximum or minimum temperature.
  3. Press the alarm button again to switch between setting the MAX and MIN alarm values.
  4. Once set, press the alarm button a third time to confirm and exit the alarm setting mode.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the main unit and sensors clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the units in water.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for instructions.

Troubleshooting

  • No Sensor Reading (--- on LCD): If the main unit does not receive a signal from a sensor, ensure batteries are correctly installed in both the main unit and the sensor. Press and hold the "CLEAR" button on the main unit for 3 seconds to re-establish the connection. Verify the red light on the sensor blinks, indicating transmission.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure sensors are placed away from direct heat sources or cold air vents. Allow some time for the sensors to stabilize after placement.
  • Interference: The wireless transmission range is up to 100 meters in open areas. Walls, doors, windows, and other obstacles can reduce this range and affect signal reception. Try repositioning the main unit or sensors to minimize interference.
  • Multiple Thermometers: If using multiple AMIR thermometers, install and pair one set completely before installing the next set to avoid interference during initial setup.
