Setup
Your Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Tempo vacuum requires minimal assembly. Follow these steps to prepare your vacuum for first use.
1. Handle Assembly
The upper handle needs to be attached to the main body. Locate the screw on the back of the vacuum where the handle connects. Remove this screw, slide the upper handle into its designated slot, and then reinsert and tighten the screw using a Phillips head screwdriver.
2. Bag Installation
Ensure a new dust bag is correctly installed. Open the bag/holder access door, which features a click lock/release. Unfold the new bag and slide it into the holder. Close the door firmly until it clicks, ensuring the bag is properly seated onto the pipe.
3. Cord Management
The 30-foot power cord should be wrapped around the cord hooks on the back of the vacuum for storage. When in use, ensure the cord is positioned away from the vacuum's path to prevent running over it. There is a notch just below the back of the handle designed to hold the cord out of the way during operation.

Operating Instructions
Familiarize yourself with the vacuum's controls and features for effective cleaning.
1. Powering On/Off
Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The power switch is conveniently located on the handle. Press the switch to turn the vacuum on or off.
2. Multi-Floor Adjustment
The vacuum features 5 floor height adjustment settings. Use the push dial selector on the powerhead to adjust the brushroll height. Select a lower setting for hard floors and low-pile carpets, and a higher setting for deep carpets to ensure optimal cleaning and maneuverability.
3. Using Attachments
The vacuum includes an Air Powered Hand Tool, Extension Wand, Crevice Tool, Upholstery Tool, and an 8-foot hose for versatile cleaning. To use attachments, ensure the vacuum is in the upright position and the brushroll is off (if applicable). Connect the desired tool to the end of the hose or extension wand. The hose is designed to stretch for high-up dusting without causing the vacuum to tip over.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures your vacuum operates efficiently and extends its lifespan.
1. Replacing the Dust Bag
When the dust bag is full, or suction power decreases, it's time to replace it. Open the bag/holder access door. Press the red bag holder release to drop the used bag into a trash receptacle. Slide a new Hoover Type Y or Type S bag into the holder, ensuring it is unfolded and properly seated. Close the door firmly.
2. HEPA Filter Maintenance
The HEPA media filter is located below and to the side of the dust bag. Check the filter regularly. If it appears dirty, gently tap it to remove loose debris. Replace the HEPA filter periodically, or if it becomes heavily soiled, to maintain optimal filtration performance.
3. Brushroll Cleaning
Periodically inspect the brushroll for tangled hair, strings, or debris. Unplug the vacuum before performing this maintenance. Remove any obstructions from the brushroll to ensure it spins freely and effectively. The brushroll has a window to see its condition.
