1. Introduction

The rear panel provides various connection ports, including HDMI output for high-definition video, AV (RCA) input/output for standard definition, and digital audio output. The AC power input is also located here.

5. Setup

5.1 Connecting to a Television

Choose one of the following connection methods:

  1. HDMI Connection (Recommended for best quality):
    • Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the rear of the recorder.
    • Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to an HDMI input port on your television.
    • Select the corresponding HDMI input on your TV using its remote control.
  2. AV (RCA) Connection:
    • Connect the yellow (Video), white (Audio L), and red (Audio R) plugs of the AV cable to the VIDEO OUT and AUDIO OUT (L/R) ports on the rear of the recorder.
    • Connect the other end of the AV cable to the corresponding VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN (L/R) ports on your television.
    • Select the corresponding AV input on your TV using its remote control.

5.2 Power Connection

  • Plug the AC power cord into the AC IN socket on the rear of the recorder.
  • Plug the other end of the power cord into a wall outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Playing VHS Tapes

  1. Insert a VHS tape into the VCR slot.
  2. Press the VCR button on the remote control or front panel to select VCR mode.
  3. Press the PLAY button to begin playback.
  4. Use the STOP, PAUSE, REW, and FF buttons for control.
  5. To eject the tape, press the EJECT button.

6.2 Playing DVDs

  1. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the DVD tray.
  2. Place a DVD disc onto the tray with the label side facing up.
  3. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray.
  4. The unit will automatically switch to DVD mode and begin playback. If not, press the DVD button.
  5. Use the PLAY, STOP, PAUSE, and navigation buttons for control.
  6. To eject the disc, press the EJECT button.

6.3 Recording VHS to DVD

This unit is designed for easy transfer of VHS content to DVD. Ensure you have a blank, recordable DVD inserted into the DVD tray.

  1. Insert the VHS tape you wish to record into the VCR slot.
  2. Insert a blank recordable DVD (DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW) into the DVD tray.
  3. Press the VCR button to select VCR mode.
  4. Locate the content on the VHS tape you wish to record. You may need to fast-forward or rewind.
  5. Press the RECORD button on the remote control or front panel. The unit will automatically start playing the VHS tape and recording it to the DVD.
  6. To stop recording, press the STOP button.
  7. After recording, the DVD may need to be finalized to be playable on other DVD players. Refer to the on-screen menu for DVD finalization options.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Unit

  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
  • For internal cleaning of VCR heads or DVD lens, use specialized cleaning kits available commercially.

7.2 Disc and Tape Handling

  • Handle discs by their edges to avoid fingerprints on the recording surface.
  • Store discs in their cases away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Store VHS tapes vertically in their cases to prevent tape damage.
