4. Setup and Assembly

Assembly typically requires two adults. Follow the steps below carefully.

  1. Prepare the Base: Place the base on a level surface. Fill the base with approximately 60.5 liters (16 gallons) of sand or water for stability. Sand is recommended for greater stability in windy conditions.
  2. Assemble the Pole: Connect the pole sections according to the diagrams in the separate assembly guide (if provided). Ensure all connections are secure.
  3. Attach the Backboard and Rim: Securely attach the backboard to the upper pole section using the provided hardware. Then, attach the rim to the backboard.
  4. Install the Net: Attach the net to the rim.
  5. Connect Pole to Base: Carefully lift and insert the assembled pole into the base. Secure it according to the base's design.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Height Adjustment

The Lifetime 92404 system features an adjustable height mechanism, ranging from 229 cm (7.5 ft) to 305 cm (10 ft).

  1. Locate the height adjustment mechanism on the pole.
  2. Follow the specific instructions for your adjustment system (e.g., pneumatic, crank, or telescoping pin) to raise or lower the backboard.
  3. Ensure the system is locked securely at the desired height before use.

5.2 Portability

  1. Ensure the base is filled for stability during transport.
