2. What's in the Box

3. Setup

3.1 Device Charging

4. Operating the Device

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the power button (usually on the side or bottom) until the Bryton logo appears.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the power button until a power-off prompt appears, then confirm.

4.2 Basic Navigation

  • UP/DOWN buttons: Navigate through menus or change data pages during a ride.
  • OK/ENTER button: Confirm selections or start/stop recording.

4.3 Starting a Ride

  1. Ensure the device has acquired a GPS signal (indicated by a solid GPS icon).
  2. Press the OK/ENTER button to start recording your ride.
  3. During the ride, you can switch between data pages using the UP/DOWN buttons.
  4. To pause, press the OK/ENTER button. To resume, press it again.
  5. To end and save the ride, press and hold the OK/ENTER button, then confirm saving.

4.4 Display Customization

The Rider 320 allows extensive customization of its data display pages. This can be done directly on the device or more conveniently through the Bryton Active app. You can select which data fields (e.g., speed, distance, heart rate, cadence, power, altitude) appear on each page and the number of fields per page.

4.5 GPS Functionality

The integrated GPS sensor provides accurate tracking of your location, speed, distance, and altitude. For best GPS performance, ensure the device has a clear view of the sky when starting a ride.

4.6 Data Synchronization

After completing a ride, you can synchronize your data to the Bryton Active app via Bluetooth. Once synced to the app, your ride data can be automatically uploaded to third-party platforms like Strava, TrainingPeaks, or Komoot, if configured in the app settings.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Clean the device regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the screen or casing. Ensure the USB port cover is securely closed to maintain its IP54 water resistance rating.

5.2 Battery Care

To maximize battery lifespan:

  • Avoid extreme temperatures during charging and storage.
  • Do not leave the device fully discharged for extended periods.
  • For long-term storage, charge the device to approximately 50-70%.

5.3 Firmware Updates

  • Sensor Not Found: Check if the sensor is active (e.g., spinning the wheel/crank, wearing the heart rate strap). Ensure the sensor's battery is not depleted.
  • Interference: Move away from other electronic devices that might cause interference.

6.3 Bryton Active App Sync Issues

  • Connection Failure: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the Rider 320. Restart both the device and the app.
  • Slow Sync: Data transfer can sometimes be slow. Ensure a stable Bluetooth connection and sufficient battery on both devices.
  • Data Loss (Rare): If you experience data loss or persistent sync issues, try updating the device firmware and reinstalling the app. Contact Bryton support if problems persist.

If the device freezes or becomes unresponsive, perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button for approximately 10-15 seconds until it powers off. Then, power it back on normally.
